You want to know what it'd be like to have no moderators on this site? Try this easy to prepare simulation.
Step 1: Procure yourself an intact box, something a fridge or similarly large appliance.
Step 2: Fill cardboard box halfway with feral cats. One or two should be rabid.
Step 3: Climb inside the box, closing the top behind you.
Step 4: Begin screaming and thrashing wildly at the cats.

How much more gore can there be? This thread is about blood and gore and not one person has even mentioned the flood yet. The flood are crazily gory. You can see their insides and shoot off their limbs and head. There is already plenty of blood. There has been pretty gory moments with the flood in Halo 1 and Halo 2. It will be the same in Halo 3, no more-no less.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

Yes, lets have another reason for Congress to crackdown on violent video games (sarcasm).

Seriously: BUNGIE probably couldnt do it...Though it would be better if they were to add more blood decals or blood splatter.

Not seriously: It would make the news and little kids all over the world would have to get someone older to buy the game.

wtf are you talking about the game is rated M , meaning little kids shouldnt buy it anyways and besides have you played Solider of fortune 2 that game allowed you to blow peoples limbs off and leave holes in peoples heads but guess what that Game was rated M so bungie can do it

No? That's unnecesasary.

So is the "as" that you added on to "unnecessary."

PersonallyI think that more blood and gore would be a good thing. Nothing over the top, but make it more realistic. The blood in H1 and H2 did not look good. I think if you get shot by a human weapon there should be some blood smears on your armor and maybe some visible damage to the shot area. And when you do finally collapse you should see a pool of blood. If you get shot by covenant weapons there would be a scorched appearence. If you get hit by a vehicle or beatdown I think that there should be an indent in you armor and you should see some blood and the hood of the vehicle or the the gun that you beat the person down with. If you are killed by and explosive I think body parts flying everywhere might be a little over the top for some people, but I wouldn't mind. I think if you get killed by a rocket there should be a whole or some very scorched armor and if it is not a direct hit you should see small cuts from shrapnel and blood should pool from a bunch of different areas. Now none of this is in any way needed, but it is an M rated game and I think it would just add to the feel of the game. Not to mention that it would be sweet to watch.

No. SO many people would stop playing Halo if they made it gorey.

Gorey?

If Halo 3 had alot of gore in it it would be banned in so many countries it's not even funny!

It would get A for Adult in the stats for sure, who the hell would want more gor in the game?

Leave the gore for "The Halo Movie".

If you want blood and guts, Unreal Tournament games seem to have a good amount of it.

Adding gore would only devalue the gameplay. It would make Halo too similar to Doom, Quake, or Unreal. Which its not.
Gore is fun for those games. But would be disruptive to most users.

However, It would lower how many Little Children there are under the age of 17 by quite a bit playing Halo 3.

I dont' say a lot, I'd say area specific damage.

Shoot someon in the arm their arm is bloody. Shoot them in the leg, ditto.

like the marines had blood on their clothes depending on where they got shot. (I believe occasionally you'll find on in halo 2 that has that) But yeah...definately not over the top. guts is too much. a little more blood? Yeah. Spurting? No. intestines falling out? No. Blood splattering on the wall? Yes. Blood, not guts.

Yeah but I don't think the grunts are that explosif, I would not mind if you shoot them a lot and you tear them to pieces.

Yes. Blood is good. Gore is just adding to that goodness. :P
It's a war game, and there should be blood... There should be an option to change the level of blood and gore in the game.

yes.... halo 3 is gonna be rated M so why should they cater to little 10 year olds who shouldn't even be playing the game if u want there not to be gore dont play the game!!!!! or mabey they could give u a option to turn gore off but thats still ruining the game.

THIS IS THE ENDING OF HALO THIS SHOULD SHOULD HAVE THE MOST GORE OUT OF THE WHOLE HALO SERIES THINK ABOUT IT.

-you know when the flood first appeard in halo c/e and there was blood and guts all over halo 3 should be like that times 50

id like area specific damage, especaily to prove my ownage when my teamates walk into a room and find 3 dead enemies with perfect bullet holes in thier visors/elite helmets. blood should flow out slowly, but none of this exploding heads crap. no heads exploding or falling off if they are shot, no dismembering, but all weapons should effect your armour. sword slashs up the chest and blood slowly pouring out would be kinda cool. also grunts shouldnt explode they should panic and suffocate when hit in the methane tanks

Thank you man that is the best idea and proper way to have gore and blood. There is no body parts flying all over the place or exploding but only cuts from swords and bullets. Burns on the body by plasma. This is the kind of gore we want in halo 3. Plus if theres holes in the armor at least we can see the blood coming out of the enemy instead of just hitting them with bullets and seeing blood just shot out of enemies with no holes in the armor.

Do you guys think there should be lots of blood and gore when you shoot an enemy? For example if you shot a grunt thier gas tank should blow up and the grunts back should explode and guts should be coming out of it. What do you guys got to say about having more blood and prephaps having gore?

WHATISWRONGWITHYOUPEOPLE!? You cant do that to a grunt...They're far too awesome.

I don't understand why people are so interested in this topic...I mean, what does it REALLY add to the gameplay? How often are you in a multiplayer game online and you find yourself with time to show your teammates the bodies and bulletholes that riddle your victims?

I'm not necessarily saying that there should not be additional damage animations, but seriously, who cares? Furthermore, the resources it would take to facilitiate area specific gore on each and every grunt you kill throughout the campain would be a drain. I'd much rather see thoroughly developed and advanced AI with battle scenes containing hundreds of independently thinking NPC's on-screen simultaneously. Gore is nothing more than petty eye candy, that will be stale/unnoticeable after a few hours with the game. Advanced physics, AI, and epic battles will make it timeless.
