Lol.
Notice how this idiot has nothing intelligent to say and just resorts to saying "Lol" because he's too stupid to say anything else.

Why did you respond to him?

I think that's rose a notorious troll.
I know.

Dont give out your info bro. Steam has the send code to your email if you sign in on an unauthorized computer. That way you'll know when/if your account is signed in on a random computer. Your fault. Steam does have a security precaution.

If you're here then that means you're either trying to find my fileshare or trying to see what my rank is to make fun of me for being a low rank

Mock me all you want, Halo isn't my life and that shows in my record

Keep in mind you're the one making fun of me for a fictional rank in a video game than has no meaning

Jokes on the hacker!

I've linked a debit card to Steam, and I don't have any money in my bank account!

I like how OP blames the credit card company and Steam but not himself.

Recon Number 54 -
If they are still looking, then while holding the snarl, I let drool start to drip from my mouth, I stand, curl my fingers into claws and with a hunched over crouch, I then make slow and deliberate steps towards them. When I get close enough, I let them hear my agonized and gasping growls and then, if they continue to stare, when I get within arm's reach? I kiss them on the nose, and run away giggling.

:/ My sympathies OP.

It is good practise to not link credit cards to Websites/Steam/XBL etc because of the risk.

A debit card might be ok, but Personally I use prepaid cards bought in shops usually with cash.

OP, don't give your password/ID/Email to anybody in regards to a service. I have a Steam account as well and they have some tight-ass security when it comes to checking in from a new computer. That should be your lesson. I hope you learn from this experience, moron.

Edit: Clearly OP gave out his information a while back to SOMEONE.

Very obvious.

Lets recap. The hacker needs a code to input into Steam in order to get the program assigned to your account on his machine. So, in a sense, you also were careless in your security of your email address.

Dude, you're 100% in the wrong here. Karma sucks.

Because it is your fault. You're the one who downloaded a trojan and didn't take adequate steps to protect yourself.

The credit card company isn't at fault. You've obviously bought from Steam before. They have no reason to believe the activity was suspicious. You want them to disable your card and call you after every purchase? If anything, they are bending over backwards refunding you for your stupidity. They just took a $700 loss - because of you.

Steam isn't at fault. To them, they see an account logged in with supposedly properly protected passwords and credentials make purchases of games.

I already wouldn't link my credit card(if I had one) to Xbox Live, PSN, Steam, etc. because of the hackers.

Irrelevant. Sony was hacked at their corporate site. Accounts were compromised because of their lack of security.

The OP lost $700 because he didn't secure his email/Steam properly.

Apples & oranges mate.

Until Steam comes out an says they weren't hacked. I'd assume they were. Monoprice was hacked a few years ago and I didn't find out until I started getting charges on my card. They didn't inform me until after the fact.

First off i dont just go downloading willy nilly Looking For trojans. I dont Know where i picked it up maybe a family Member using my computer accidentally got it.

2. It Slipped past MSE which Is Why i reformat..

3. My bank acc is Set To sms me to authorise "suspicious"transactions and $700 is pretty -blam!- suspicious.

4. Steam had not let me Know the account was Accessed Elsewhere, nor did it ask For a confirmation of purchase whether It be by entering The card Cv Code or an sms.

My only Fault here is not reseting every password after my Email Was hacked and i Recovered it, i had just not Predicted these Events that Followed.

and there's where you -blam!- up. if you weren't so damned stupid and didn't change your passwords when you -blam!- KNEW SOMEONE ELSE KNOWS ALL YOUR PASSWORDS then you wouldn't have lost $700 then would you?

  • 12.27.2012 10:13 AM PDT

Made an account in 2006. Visited Bungie.net in 2005. Joined Xbox Live in 2005. It's amazing to see how the site, Bungie, and Halo have evolved over the years. Utterly amazing.

I guess you should start using PayPal, OP? That's what i use
