My keyboard has a strange problem that occurs when I use the 't' key. If I press it and type nothing afterwards, it will add anywhere from 3-9 extra t's. But, if I type another letter immediately after it, I can not type a new 't' unless I press space a few times and backspace or back up to the first 't' and re-type the rest of the word. The weird thing is that it does not physically stick. Does anybody know what could be causing the problem?

here is the keyboard
Try unplugging it, turning the computer off, plugging it back in, and turning the computer back on. If that doesn't work, email Logitech support. They're awesome about fixing issues like this. If you're lucky, they'll send you a new keyboard and won't even ask for the old one like I did with my G9x.

Jokes on them. It fixed itself a week later and I gave the old one to my friend.

I looked around and it seems the keyboard is just prone to the specified problem and it is a real hassle. I think I might just look for a new keyboard. Does anybody have any recommendations? Something for gaming/word processing with blue backlights (to match my other things). Price really isn't an issue if it will last a long time.

Hi.

2) How do you guys tell how many FPS you're getting in a game?

Hi!

Games should have this built in already. The only game I can think of that actually has an option to show FPS is Serious Sam 3.

the flood, there a bunch of jerks, but there my jerks.

Is it better to shut down (And power off the PSU) or put my PC to sleep while I sleep (8+ hours)? I got Windows 8 on an SSD if it makes a difference.

I always do, but I don't believe it makes a huge difference. I always though it would be bad for my HDD to be constantly spinning, but you do have an SSD. They're known for having short (5 year) lifespans though.

Hi.

Also, two things.
1) I'm getting really bad screen tearing in Far Cry 3. How can I stop this?
2) How do you guys tell how many FPS you're getting in a game?
Try this. I think you might have an AMD card, so look for similar settings.

And I use MSI Afterburner, Mumble, or Bandicam for FPS checks.
So what would I do? Open Afterburner while playing the game?

Yes. In the settings, you should be able to set a hotkey to activate it. Afterburner also lets you overclock your GPU, set fan speed, and record levels of usage by the GPU.

Yeah, I knew that. And, I'll look into the hotkey stuff.

I use Afterburner to view the GPU temperature and FPS.

I did a driver wipe, installed the 12.11 beta and according to the OverDrive menu in the Catalyst Control Centre, it downclocked my GPU to 450 MHz for some reason.

Also, I got mocked for saying at this point of time, AMD is the better choice.

According to a lot of people, yes, it is. According to PMC, Nvidia still is the most powerful, but AMD has the best price/performance right now.

Could anyone explain why?

I've since disabled OverDrive and resorted to Afterburner for overclocking.

I blame the beta drivers. I know it sounds like a pain, but try flashing back 12.10 and see if the speeds are the same. Otherwise, I'm not sure, someone else here might have a better idea.

What makes that keyboard better than others? It seems too simple for the price, but I know nothing about keyboards so please enlighten me.

Anyone use MX Blues for gaming? I'm after a keyboard for half and half gaming and typing, I'm put off blues for people saying the actuation being lower than the reset upsets double tapping, and put off browns from people saying they don't have as much tactile feedback.

The only mechanical keyboard I've used had red switches, and whilst I found them a billion times better than dome keys, I'd like them to have a click, rather than the feeling just coming from bottoming out.

Blue switches are said to be the best for typing, while black switches are said to be best for gaming. Black switches require a high amount of force to press a key down, so most people here have said to stay away from them. You could try out blue switches, as it's all a matter of preference, but otherwise brown or red switches are the best middleground.

Also, how did you like red switches? I was thinking about getting a keyboard with those soon and wanted to know how they were.

Just for all of you still unaware how download speeds work, you can't be torrenting something at max speeds and expect to get your max speeds in another download simultaneously. I'm looking at you, Chip. That should go for any other type of download as well though.

I've literally only used reds, so I don't have much to compare them to. They were good, obviously a thousand times better than a membrane key, smooth and linear actuation that doesn't seem to get heavier the further you push them, but theres no indication you've activated the key, since they activate before you bottom out and thats the only feedback.

Out of all of the switches I think I'd hate blacks, no feedback and a heavy switch, which supposedly isn't good for typing. I really cant decide between blues or browns, just worried the blues won't be much good for gaming.

I'll probably end up getting browns then, myself since I want some indication.

Alright guys, I'm going to make the final jump from console to PC very soon. Problem is, I absolutely hate using WASD to move characters around. I prefer using a mouse than a stick for aiming, but using keys to move the character feels so unnatural compared to a stick.

Basically, I'm looking for something like this. I'm not sure if that's an exclusive thing to Logitech, as I can't seem to start and effective search for it because I don't think that type of 'pad' has a standard name. I need something real basic. No flashy lights, doesn't have to be mechanical, doesn't really need anything but keys and an analog stick.

I use a nostromo. The only downside is that you need a long thumb to use the stick (keep in mind that I have stubby thumbs though).

Same here.

Mine boots an shut downs fast so I just shut it down.

Also, I've read about a guy in a different forum that also prefers a mouse for aiming and an analogue stick for movement.

That looks really nice, but it's definitely too flashy and full-featured.

Is there a standard name for those type of pads, so I can actually manage an effective search?
