You should get the latest BIOS that you can get off Gigabyte's website.

Also, nForce chipset. NVIDIA quit the motherboard chipset business a while back. How old is your motherboard?

I'm not sure, but I'm looking at my box for the MOBO and it says the AM3+ CPU BIOS are installed and it's AM3+ CPU ready, so I'm assuming I'm good to go
Well, in order to install a newer CPU. It's wise to update the BIOS.

AM3+ is the socket. Plus, the best CPU you can install on your motherboard is the FX 8140 and the minimum required BIOS version for that exact CPU is version FB.

I'm sure you can check the BIOS version by going into the BIOS. If it's already FB, you are good to go.

So, my GPU is set to come tomorrow! :D The ridiculous Asus 7970 Matrix triple slot monster, any precaution I should take? Should I download the drivers before I install it or after?

Download the 12.11 drivers and only install them after you have the graphics card installed.

Also, how the heck did you play ArMA with the HD 4000??

Lowest possible settings on some resolution below 1920x1080 lol! With 30FPS! Arma is not incredibly demanding at lowest settings.

I can play Arma 2 at 25FPS (still easily playable) at lowest settings on the Intel HD 2500.

Also, good mouse guide.
The G500 is not as good as the G400, and the Deathadder is better than the Sensei, but overall it's a good guide.

Look at the OUYA. That thing is small but packs a mighty punch for only $100.

This thing is a bit bigger than the OUYA so Valve can put more powerful stuff inside of it.

I have faith in Valve. They'll pull it off.

But it do.

I'm looking for help on getting my Minecraft server up and running. The only thing that I need help with is portforwarding on an old Belkin router which only seems to give me options for private IP address,

It would have to be low-tier. The Ouya is nice and all, but it runs Android.

They can eliminate the PSU by feeding power directly to the components. It also appears to use an AMD Athlon CPU, which consumes very little power. We already have mini-itx mobos, so this isn't completely implausible.

The only confusing part is how they compensate for the GPU.

Streaming?

Streaming?

Then it doesn't make it too much more different than OnLive. It already has the air of Ouya around it. The only thing really going for it is that it will (presumably?) support Steam natively.

Obviously. I feel like it'll basically just run Steam as the "dashboard" and it'll be a Steam store like what we have on the PC, but more optimized for however they do it.

"THE X7A MODULAR COMPUTER

Power-Friendly Performance

Power-users and gamers: start your engines! The X7A Modular Computer is like a high-performance race car housed within extremely compact chassis. Powered by a Quad-Core processor running at up to 3.2GHz, integrated with up to 384 graphics shader cores, and 4GB or 8GB of DDR3 RAM, the X7A handles graphics-rich games like Crysis 2 with ease. The X7A runs 3 high-definition monitors simultaneously, has four USB 3.0/2.0 ports, four eSATAp ports, four USB 2.0 ports, a 10/100/1000 Ethernet port, and up to 1TB of super fast solid-state storage inside the chassis. At a price point starting under $1,000 and operating a very power-friendly 40 watts, the X7A Modular Computer gives you a whole lotta bang for your buck."

Yes, I know this isn't the Steambox, but I'd just like to point this out;

This is their $1000 model, which isn't available for purchase on their website yet. Granted, there are no benchmarks and they'll say anything to sell their system, but I highly doubt this could beat an equivalent computer of $1000, so don't hold your breath about this thing. For all we know, "ease" could mean 720p at 30 fps on medium.

I do have the FB version so I guess I'm good. But I'm wondering, why can I only get the 8140? IS that what you mean't the 8140? Because I'm googling it and I can't find a retailer, It's not even on the AMD website.

Why couldn't I get an FX 8350 for my MOBO?

Rustle status: Maximum overrustle.

What does this mean, that only AMD will be selling true 8000 series?

If you're buying a prebuilt chances are you'll get the rebranded cards while if you buy a 8950 for example from Newegg, it's the new card.

I checked the support CPU list for your motherboard, the 8350 isn't supported.

The Bulldozer FX CPUs (FX 8130 for example) however, are supported.

Hey guys what do you think of this headset? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168261930 37

I'm not looking for amazing sound and mic quality just decent quality works for me.

Also I'm on strict budget. I'm a full time college student and I don't have a job at the moment.

EDIT: Or would I see any real performance increase with this

I mean, I don't know a whole lot about "gaming" headsets other than to stay away from them. But, if this is all you can afford, I guess go for it, personally, I'd recommend the AD700s with a Zalman clip on mic.
