70k graduating.
85k 10 years later.
At first it would seem like sucky wage growth, but I hear that is common with engineers - experience doesn't really bring to much wage growth, at least not as much as other majors.
I'd hope for more though. That is only a bit more than 2% growth year over year, not counting inflation. I'd bet 85k ten years from now probably will be worth less than 70k is right now.Ok well I'm just speaking in relative terms. I may make 100k in 10 years because Construction Engineers are supposed to make 125k with 25 years of experience. So 90-100k actually.
Anything above 65k is very comfortable living where I'm from though. I'm just happy to provide for my future family and give my future kids the best future they can get along with the best childhood. That's my only real purpose in life. Continue the legacy. My dad gave me a good life and education, so I'll pass that on to my children.
