Kill a thousand and they will say the owning an assault weapon is good.
because an assault weapon doesn't exist outside of the media and what the anti-gun politicians want you to believe.

honestly, click the links i posted. they're edutainment, not lie-based ignorant fear campaigns designed to control you *cough* mainstream media *cough*.

dat feeling when you plow a multi-ton covenant war machine.

I don't think people should have more power than they can handle.

That being said, all people should have the capability to defend themselves. I own guns used for hunting, and guns used for personal defense, I don't own guns for killing(people).

Someone breaks into my house, am I going to grab my ar-15 or my fnp-45?

Both are good, but I'll take the rifle over a handgun any day.

It's possible, there could be 3 robbers that are all armed. A pistol won't be the best firearm to defend your home with in that situation.

I remember the rush in 1994. By then I already had my full-cap mags for my Glock(s).

I think I found someone older than I am here.

I prefer the precision of a rifle, hostage situations, all that.

But I can't deny the damage of double aught buck (maybe even triple aught!) out of an SBS...just need that $200 tax stamp.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

Shotguns are great home defense weapons, especially if you're not the greatest shooter in the land. Just aim and shoot and you're practically guaranteed to put some hurt out.

Yes because you're definitely going to be in the position to stop a hostage situation...

****ing paranoia.

Most people don't ever have to deal with a break-in in their life in America. Let alone a home invasion, let alone a home invasion with 3 armed criminals. If a handgun isn't enough, you should take other measures to protect your home, like an alarm system (which is one of the most effective ways of deterring criminals from targeting your house in the first place), locks, or if you're that scared, maybe get some bars on your windows.

actually some good 75 grain+ MK.262 / OTMs like Hornady or SSA is pretty good out of an AR pistol or Short AR for home defense. you're not using low grain FMJs and long barrels.

AR-15:it works on squirrels, rabbits, small miscellaneous mammals, pigs, small to medium sized deer, humans, small elk.

any proper defensive load will Overpenetrate though your target. it's simply projectile physics. however good "HD" loads can minimize or reduce OP.

You still have to aim well with a shotgun. Even an 18" shotgun with a cylinder bore will only produce a softball-baseball sized shot pattern at common SD distances. The good thing about a shotgun is that given the massive payload delivered, even a 20% hit could be devastating.

OT: The run on guns is good for buisness, i tell you what. Were out of all semi-auto rifles, and our ammo case is damn near empty.

Most people? Perhaps. But no one is capable of predicting which group (lucky or not-lucky) they will remain in.

This 12 year old girl may have been the one headed to the hospital, or never seen again, if she had not been able to defend herself recently.

The choice of weapon, the decision of what steps to take to prevent, prepare or even train (most families don't practice fire escape drills for example) is a personal one. There is no "proper and adequate" solution.

really? NO. you still have to aim a shotgun as at HD distances, it's a solid fist side mass of lead.

for every foot travelled it's about 1" of spread.

most HD distances are between 3'-10'.

life ain't cawadoody or butterfed 3.

Neither will owning a gun, necessarily. Many people own guns and die from other things.

Moving may cause somebody to die in a car accident.

Or, if people don't like firearms, they could move to a nation where they are already heavily regulated.

My point is that living in a safer city can nearly eliminate the need for a gun for defense. I'd rather live in a city without the worry of being robbed, than actually have to use my gun on someone.
