So yesterday I got an iPhone 5 on a two year contract. As usual with new phones, I charged it up straight away and then proceeded to us it normally. The problem being however, less than a couple hours of use and it was already down to 20%...

Is this a fault with my phone? I heard the battery wasn't the best, but this seems extremely bad.

Couldn't you check the battery life, then decided from there if it simply comes with a low battery life, or if your phone is faulty?

Oh really? Hmmm. I'm getting ~2 hours of usage and <3 hours of standby time before it needs to be charged.

RIP Ginger

Have you been using it on 4G and with stuff like Youtube etc?

I usually find on my 4S that 3G + YT can use it fast.

Most girls I've been with were hesitant about taking it in the mouth. But once they did most would swallow. I got tons of compliments on the taste.

I think it's because of my diet. No fast food, no alcohol and lots of fruit.

I had a similar problem with my iPhone 5 when I first got it. I would consider doing 2 things to help solve the problem.

1. Do a full restore.
2. Close your apps that are running in the background.

I'll assume you know how to do both of those so I won't go into detail. For me, Skype was draining all my battery, so I just always close it after I'm done using it.

Are you sure you're shutting down your apps properly?

Hitting the home button leaves them running in the background. You have to double tap the home button and shut down the app like that.

I'd wait a few days before calling it faulty. I got a phone recently and was surprised when the battery drained quickly the first day. But after it dying and recharging a few times the battery life has seemed to improve. I'm not an expert on batteries but perhaps these newer batteries have a small break-in period.

You're actually kind of right. They're called cycles.

Ooooh. I was under the impression that just pressing the home button closed the apps. I'll close apps after I'm done with them and see how that affects my battery.

Thanks guys. :)

Yeah just double tap that home button and hold on the app like you're going to delete it and hit the little red circle.

iPhone 4S 64GB Black.

Restore, backup, reset.

That is the number one thing you have to remember that fixes just about every problem with Apple products.

Also, make sure you turn off location services, notifications centre, badge app icons, etc. where unnecessary. Look up on the internet how to make your iPhone battery life better.

I think companies should really start to try and get better batteries in their devices. Imagine if a phone could last a week with heavy usage, I'd buy it, even if it was an Android phone.
