A real test of a man is if he is willing to scrape a sharpened razor up and down his junk just to please a woman.

indie games have much better communities than most AAA games. That's a matter of population, not of a specific community. The more people you get, the louder the haters will be. It isn't video game specific. It's just humanity.
Indie games are a hell of a lot more creative and innovative. The ones you notice.
And I don't normally see indie devs dumbing down or callofdutyfying their games to cater to casuals.... Selective memory. There are hundreds to thousands of copy cat indie games. The point is you only notice the ones that are different because- get this- they don't have the advertising of big titles so they only gain popularity by word of mouth for the most part.
You're getting your cause and effects jacked up, mate.Same can be said for bigger companies too, so really, you're going by assumptions unless you have actually seen the majority of indie games, and in turn the more commercial games. Your argument falls in on yourself.
Indeed there's cruddy indie games, and some are not. Same with so called AAA titles as well (AAA seems to be a rank based on the developers popularity or how much money is put into the game, not its final quality or what makes it stand out).
But I do believe indie games are more innovative at the moment than the commercial games, simply because the video game market as a whole is stagnated with gray shooters. To expand on this, how many AAA games have recently just said "-blam!- it" and haven't compromised at all just to try and find an audience? I can think of two off the top of my head: Lolipop Chainsaw and Dark Souls.
