No, but my mothers god-daughter's brother died a few months ago. I actually knew him quite well and I remember going to his house to play his drums. Its weird to see someone who you know one day is there, but then he isn't.

The objective of war is not to die for your cause. It is to make your enemies die for theirs.

Does this count?

Truer words were never spoken

I think that was it.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

So you didn't see his actual dying moment...

The nurses broke HIPAA regulations pretty badly by telling you what happened to the guy. They're not supposed to share that information.

OT: I've seen several. I can't talk about them as a healthcare professional (a concept it sounds like the nurses should familiarize themselves with), but suffice it to say it's significantly harder to get over it when it's a young person (namely children) and they died despite doing everything in your power to save them.

Maybe I'm just being cynical, but I honestly don't see how/why that guy's death effects you. You had nothing to do with him or his death and people die every day. I guess it would be weird seeing a guy one instant and finding out he died moments after you saw him, but I don't see why it would bother you to this extent. If seeing a cardiac arrest patient wheeled into the ER is the worst thing you ever see I'd say you're golden.

The sound of iron shocks is stuck in my head, The thunder of the drums dictates
The rhythm of the falls, the number of dead's the rising of the horns, ahead
From the dawn of time to the end of days I will have to run, away
I want to feel the pain and the bitter taste of the blood on my lips, again

2 guys 1 hammer is the closest I've been to witnessing a death.

Fast forward a few hours, and I am in the late night cafeteria, having some pretzels and a cherry coke zero. The ER nurses were there, and I asked what happened to the YMCA guy. They said CPR wasn't started soon enough, and he died.

Now I'm sitting here in a darkened ICU room, wondering how to deal with it.

That isn't seeing a guy die.

I was standing outside a restaurant, ambulance was in the parking lot, woman screaming hysterically, some other people, looked like family were hold her, trying to calm her down. Husband just died of a stroke.

I didn't actually see him die either.

As to how to deal with it, that isn't much man. Hearing about someone die? And shaken up? I don't mean to sound like an ass but people die all the time, everywhere. People are dying as I type this, as you read this. Only difference is the proximity. You just gotta accept that.

People die.
Boo boo.
Would you feel complete if I told you that I thought you were über manly for posting that?

Yeah d00d totaly lol lmao.
No.
Its a cold fact.

Well when you lose a parent, sibling, spouse, child, or friend, I'll be sure to comfort you with a "people die, boo hoo" and give you 0 sympathy.

Not even remotely the same situation.

All the time.
Hopefully, you read the OP. I have to ask you, how do you deal with it? Obviously I didn't know the guy. He was as unknown to me as anyone. Yet, I can't help but feel a little unnerved by it. I've seen people die before. A kid shot himself in my basic training class, and my brothers and I held our dad's hand when they pulled the life support.

This was so...random. Just a stranger showed up, blam he's dead.

How do you deal with that?

After 13 years of life and death, I've just gotten used to it.
Did it disturb you when you first started?

I apologize for asking so many questions, I just never considered this before. It was always an intellectual exercise until I saw it happen.

Bungie doesn't like French on their site.

Yes, not in reality though. I've seen people set of fire until they died, jumping of buildings, hangings, people shot, blown up. Some people in this world are sick.

Oh..how to deal with it? I just know everyone will die at some point. So, having that mentality will make it less damaging when someone I love does die and I never get to talk or hear from them again.

Roll with the punches.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

saw these guys street racing, hit a curb, ejected through a window and the guy hit a telephone pole and died on impact. 12 years old. Saw what happens when a ford focus meets a mac truck a couple of weeks ago. Never seen so much blood in my life

Eh, death is something i'm relatively desensitized to.

yea, the street racing one is hard for me to remember. It is the Ford Focus vs. Mac truck one that is stuck in my mind. I don't think I'll ever forget that. It was horrible

My problems [with Reach] are basically just full parties, mlg, and people who go out of their way not to get killed.

Yes. One of my professors once said, "The day I could look at a man die and not care is the day I knew I needed to retire." (He was a police officer for a good portion of his life)

I do not entirely agree with him but can understand how death changes some people and does nearly nothing to others.

You look like a handsome drug dealer

About a year ago I saw a guy get struck by a car while jaywalking. I was watching from my 4th floor window.

Shook me up a bit for a few days, and it still hasn't gotten out of my mind.

I'm not really whining about it. It blew my mind. The guy came in more or less alive, and I found out later he left dead. I feel badly for the guy.

His last feeling was passing out in the bathroom of a YMCA. That's gotta be in the top 50 places you don't want to die in list.

It was just curiosity, really. I was thinking that it had to suck to pass out naked on the floor of a YMCA. It was just supposed to be small talk after I thanked her for helpng my wife, the kind that shows I take an interest. I didn't want to spend the rest of the night creaped out by it.
