Fast forward a few hours, and I am in the late night cafeteria, having some pretzels and a cherry coke zero. The ER nurses were there, and I asked what happened to the YMCA guy. They said CPR wasn't started soon enough, and he died.
Now I'm sitting here in a darkened ICU room, wondering how to deal with it.
That isn't seeing a guy die.
I was standing outside a restaurant, ambulance was in the parking lot, woman screaming hysterically, some other people, looked like family were hold her, trying to calm her down. Husband just died of a stroke.
I didn't actually see him die either.
As to how to deal with it, that isn't much man. Hearing about someone die? And shaken up? I don't mean to sound like an ass but people die all the time, everywhere. People are dying as I type this, as you read this. Only difference is the proximity. You just gotta accept that.
