Fair play

I consider my brother as a casual gamer that only plays games like: GTA, Borderlands and Minecraft. Anyway, a moment ago he actually succeeded in getting me to try out Borderlands 2.

After about 30 min in the game, I told him that this game is too easy, pointless and cheesy in dialog.

Now he's a no brainer, so all he can say is ¨its fun¨.

Since Borderlands 2 is in the top 10 games of this year, I would like to know why, potentially, so many of you like this game.

It is a fun, relaxing arcade shooter that actually has a fairly decent single player story. It has plenty of challenge once you play True Vault Hunter.

If the multiplayer co-op was better, it would have been an extremely stellar game instead of just a really good one.

The only no brainer here sounds like you OP.

Its a fun game, with a lot of hours of content. Its GOTY worthy

  • 12.28.2012 6:29 AM PDT

It got boring and I got the season pass at the time and now I have 2 and a half DLC's and the rest of the single player campaign to beat still.

But also keep in mind I have only really played solo. The matchmaking is pointless cause everyone there just rushes through the game. I have played a bit of split screen with my friend but not enough to judge it.

And for about it being easy.. Try killing a badass varkid I rage quit cause I got downed probably 8 times on just the first one and I haven't raged since the Halo 3 days.

I'm curious as to why you consider fun to not be an appropriate qualifier for a game.

I still havent gotten a play through 2.1 yet, have they fixed that glitch?

I would love to get all capped weapons for my three 50s.

Lol too easy the OP is probably only on playthrough 1. OP get to TVHM where enemies down you in like 2 shots then say it is still too easy. As for why people like it the loot is the simple answer which is why it sucks how much they nerfed it in BL2.

It's very different from most of the FPS games out there right now. It's a totally different style and takes itself much less seriously, and the world itself if more vibrant than most I've seen lately.

Co-op is pretty fun, too.

Each class's action skill is distinct enough from the others that playing with a different class mixes up your gameplay quite a bit. Most of them add a fun or interesting twist to the gameplay.

The characters are way more over-the-top than most games. Handsome Jack is also one of the most fun villains to hate. Although I must admit I'm a little disappointed we never actually got to see Butt Stallion.

Basically, it's fun to play, and it's a nice break from all the more serious FPS games on the market right now.

The only issue im finding at higher levels regarding classes, is there is a skill set for solo and co-op, until a higher cap is allowed, you have to switch skills, artifacts, and even weapons.

The worst part about the Fetch Quests in the second one was they were pretty much required or else you would just outright fail later on in the game.

Don't punch a British kid, the queen'll come after you.

How come "it's fun" isn't a satisfactory response?

Am I supposed to reel off a list of aspects for everything I enjoy?

Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.

I find the dialogue hilarious. Usually always gets a laugh out of me.

What I love about Borderlands 2 is that it's not a game meant to be taken seriously, but more of a lay back and have fun with friends.

Just bought the Season Pass which was on sale yesterday, so now I have a lot more to do.

I haven't seen much need to switch equipment between solo and multiplayer, but I definitely see what you're saying about the skills, especially with the Siren.
