Subject: Aren't Europeans paying more for games than Americans?

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.

Seriously, to say that gamers continue to demand more for less is an understatement.
hahah, what? gamers, console gamers in particular, have spent the last 5 years throwing money at producers by buying up -blam!--tonnes of DLC, all content that would, a decade ago, come packaged as part of the game or as part of a free update. I mean, seriously, paying for maps? The mind boggles.

Ten years ago, there was no online system for DLC to even exist for console games obviously. Games today have higher development costs and development time, but sale price has remained the same.

And I guess you've fogotten about the era of "expansion packs" for PC games during that time, which was basically the first iteration of what you could call DLC.

To be further fair, some of that markup is probably justified.
none of these stated costs apply in significance to online retail or digital distribution of a game in the UK. they mark the prices up like that because they can.

Hence why I said "brick and mortar". Online and physical distribution prices remain the same for price control reasons - it alienates one group of merchants to have one have a significant pricing advantage.

I am alpha, i am omega.

I am the last of the primes.

We have taxes higher then the U.S here in the UK, yet we only pay 40 pounds for a game which is around 60 dollars.
