''Misanthropes have some admirable if paradoxical virtues. It is no exaggeration to say that we are among the nicest people you are likely to meet. Because good manners build sturdy walls, our distaste for intimacy makes us exceedingly cordial "ships that pass in the night." As long as you remain a stranger we will be your friend forever.''

Drum and bass is pretty good.
But I think dubstep is just someone who recognized that the world needs more bass.
Dnb is a good genre to listen to if you want to study rhythm in music.
From personal experience after listening to Dnb, I can DJ better.
DEM SNARE DRUMZ THOUGH
To me, most dubstep is just bass for the sake of bass, like when a kid first discovers sugar and is like "MOR SUGAR NEED SUGAR EVERYWHERE". Not that it doesn't taste good, it's just a bit excessive.
DnB snares are best snares. That and Koan Sound snares.
Noisia terrifies me. I love them, but goddamn is their stuff unnervingly dark.
Neurofunk(ish) snares.
