Subject: Do you have 'Religous Education' lessons in school?

...And if so, what are they like?

When I was in Primary they were terrible as it was a Christian school so all we learned about was Jesus and St David (Saint of Wales).

From year 7 - 9 it was good. We learned about other beliefes. It was really interresting.

From year 10 - 11 it has been on and off. The tests are okay and pretty easy (I always get B's) as it is to do with opinions, and we all have them. The teaching, however, irritates me. Our teacher (who is agnostic) constantly comes up with rediculous statements that she thinks make science unreliable. Then, she chooses terrible ways of saying that religon might be correct. Now, I have no problem with these, other than that she chooses such stupid points to raise rather than good ones and is always so one - sided.

I AM NOT ASKING FOR RELIGOUS VEIWS. I'M ASKING ABOUT RELIGOUS EDUCATION LESSONS IN SCHOOL

Just remember that no matter how terrible you feel, or how much you want to let go, there are people who care about you and love you.

Yes, because my school is related with the local church. It's my only lesson that I'm not doing exceptionally well in.

Public school master race.

No offense, but I'd have raged far too much in any school that pressed religious beliefs in the classroom.

Not really. In Elementary I went to a Public school, in those days we had to say the Pledge of Allegiance which has the word God in it. Not sure if students still say that. In Middle School I was in the Middle East but even those schools didn't talk about religion much.

I'm on the verge.

The only thing that stops me is that our chemistry teacher, (only when asked), is very open about how he finds it all silly.

Utah, There is Mormon seminary every school you go to. It ain't to bad if you get a good teacher that doesn't care that you took the class as a placeholder period.

I do. The local schooling system has mandatory religious education.

But I don't really do well.

I also have an agnostic teacher, but he does a very fine job at making people question what they believe in (as we all should)

Now get in the van.

Why is an agnostic defending religion?

Thank -blam!- for that. Although they did a play where Jesus was visited by himself from the future so I don't know if that counts.

Nope but I would love to be in one so I could troll them.
