You see, i'm 17 and my dad is against violent games like COD or Battlefield, so against it he didn't buy them too me for christmas. I'm ok with that, but my grandma and aunt then gave me 40$ each summing it to 80$ i'm already planning on getting Batman Arkham City GOTY but I don't know if I should go against my dad and buy Blops 2 to play with my friends or buy Borderlands 2 since I really liked the first one.

So I need help flood. Keep in mind my dad is against violent games ever since what happened in Connecticut. But, please don't derail the thread discussing about violent games and such.

Just help me choose or doing the right thing or whatever.

There's a “U” and “I” in union but just an “I” in my beliefs

Borderlands 2 is awesome. Still playing it 3 days later.

BNet, the only vidya game forum where sigs are pointless.

I think the more pressing matter here is convincing your dad that you are not so unstable as to assume that a violent video game could send you on a shooting rampage.

He's one of those people that believe the media just because they say it on the news.

Didact's Reprisal -
Now is the time of our unworlding
One final effort is all that remains
And I am not afraid
We shall fulfill our promise
We fight for the grace of the Mantle
And this time none of you will be left behind

You know, I could link you to scientific studies that show gaming has the opposite effect. (but pm, since that's getting off-topic and whatnot)

On-topic, I vote for borderlands 2. Its season pass is still on sale (I think), and I'm sure by the time a borderlands 3 comes out, there'll be half a dozen more cods to play.

I am the Core. And I am not pleased.

borderlands2 it is SOOOOOOO much better than CoD

CoD will stay a generic shooter with boring gameplay but borderlands will forever be different

go. with. borderlands.

"What are we holding on to, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

Honestly? I liked Black Ops 2 better. I played so much BL that 2 feels almost exactly the same. I haven't picked up a new Call of Duty in several years and I have a large group of friends that plays Zombies, so of course that helps.
