Subject: Belgium prosecutes Scientology as a criminal organisation

“If we will disbelieve everything, because we cannot certainly know all things, we shall do much what as wisely as he who would not use his legs, but sit still and perish, because he had no wings to fly.” - John Locke

"How can anyone be enlightened? Truth after all is so poorly lit." - Rush

Belgium prosecutes Scientology as a criminal organisation. Charges are: extortion, fraud, privacy breaches and practice of illegal medicine.

Thoughts?

Scientology is the belief that you are immortal, but have forgotten your true nature. In order to find your true self, you must re-experience painful or traumatic events in your past in order to free yourself. You also need to give donations in order to get help from the church. So yes, the charges do make sense.

But I love the part about the aliens. Also the fact they believe every time you piss, puke, or crap you're one step closer to immortality. I think I'm getting closer as we speak considering the size of my bowel movements.

No, I'm pretty sure they re experience painful and traumatic moments in their past, like a divorce, funeral, things like that. And you might be constipated.

Edit:Okay, they do believe in aliens.

And aren't we all religious? A religion is a belief system people believe in. We all believe in something, don't we?

Just facts. But I wouldn't call those beliefs in the way you think.

This is ridiculous. I used to think Belgium was a pretty civilized country, but not anymore.

No constipation. They think these things help cleanse them of weird things which are the cause of all of mankind's woes.

A previous inquest, which dragged on for years, is still many years before the Brussels pantry. The study, which began in 1997, was about older facts. That is not the case for the new thing that the federal prosecutor now at the Brussels pantry pull.

I love Google translate.

How? What good has scientology done? It makes people crazy and it is an obvious scam.

The ignorance in this thread is appalling, and I'm surprised it hasn't been locked yet. You can't just call an entire religion a "scam". And get this - people choose to follow it. No one is forcing anyone to give donations.

LOL.

So as long as something just calls itself a religion, it can do anything it wants? There's a reason there's a legal difference between a religion and a cult.
