This is ridiculous. I used to think Belgium was a pretty civilized country, but not anymore.
They sue people to get people to shut up when they bash them. The cases always get thrown out though. What part of that makes them, known scammers, civilized?

  • 12.28.2012 10:23 AM PDT

Has anyone actually become immortal through this?

Dear Floodians:

A Girl thread a day keeps the ladies at bay and gets us banned, the lonely single way.

What a horrible translation. Even the title is completely wrong.

How? What good has scientology done? It makes people crazy and it is an obvious scam.

The ignorance in this thread is appalling, and I'm surprised it hasn't been locked yet. You can't just call an entire religion a "scam". And get this - people choose to follow it. No one is forcing anyone to give donations.
LOL.

So as long as something just calls itself a religion, it can do anything it wants? There's a reason there's a legal difference between a religion and a cult.

What do you mean, "do anything it wants"? It's not doing anything illegal in the first place.

Finally a country that has balls to do it.
France has done it for a while now.
Really? What's with French-speaking people and their use of common sense when it comes to Scientology?

If anything it shows which people are crazy and which aren't.

Also, I'm going to link you to this page. The answerer provides sources and everything. Tell me, do you really want these people around?

Scientology is not a religion, it is a cult. Anyone who believes otherwise fails to see the truth.

And yet it is doing illegal things under Belgium's laws, hence why they're being prosecuted. Are you that thick?

When you argue, do you actually read what everyone else is posting? Or do you just skim it so you can get your argument in faster?

I know that it's against Belgium laws. That's why I said that Belgium isn't a civilized country.

You have no argument, except that apparently extortion, fraud, and privacy breaches shouldn't be illegal, which is pretty ludicrous lol.

Extortion and fraud, of course not. If people get scammed, it's their fault. And when people get scammed, they'll tell other people not to buy/believe the place that they got scammed from. Because of this, scammers can't stay in business very long. It's one of the few things I like about capitalism.

In short, you can defend the lowest common denominator or you can defend individual freedoms. I'll choose the latter.

As for privacy breaches, when have Scientologists ever invaded someone's privacy?

Well that flies in the face of just about every legal system in the Western world, so apparently just about all of North America and Europe is "uncivilized" to you.

I'm done talking to you, troll. You have nothing to stand on.

Hey, how about you actually form an argument?

Baseless accusations are a surefire way to ruin a good thread.

And aren't we all religious? A religion is a belief system people believe in. We all believe in something, don't we?

Not really.

Scientology was never recognised as a religion in Belgium.

You really don't know how the US treated Muslims.

try this

true story

well of course it's guilty. see it's a cult around a drug addicted sci-fi writer(who just so happened to be a pathological lier) where people pay extreme sums of money to be indoctrinated, not voluntarily allowed to leave, drugged/abused and sent to "private camps" about their private navy.

all you gotta do is do some research for your self to find this out.

How am I ignorant?

Okay, take this example: the Pope of Vatican City kills someone. Does this incriminate the entire Catholic Church?

Of course not. So how does the behavior of some high-up Scientologist officials incriminate their entire religion?

  • 12.28.2012 1:44 PM PDT

Good.

At least one country is doing something to counter some of the ancient BS that people still believe in.
