They've actually been improving lately too.

They removed DRM and made Uplay less overbearing on their PC releases for starters, and have released a generally good/great stream of games recently too.

"Stream" of good games? I can only think of one. Far Cry 3. That's it. And actually it's more expensive to play than most games. The single player lasts around 20 hours, with little replay value, and the game costs $50 on Steam, that means it costs $2.50 per hour to play since it's multiplayer is complete trash.

Compare to a game like Borderlands 2. 30 hours of gameplay to finish the story, which, at its $60 price, costs $2 an hour which is already a better deal than FC3. And unlike FC3 it has a functional multiplayer and has tons of replay value. You can easily have over a hundred hours of fun on Borderlands 2.

I agree, Ubisoft is cancer.

CamCamm: How does that work?

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

I like how your sub box is full of science and political videos but your recommendations are full of anime girls kissing each other.

Just Zoid being Zoid ^_^

But Ubisoft published Far Cry. Without them it would not have seen the light as Far Cry. And Ubisoft made Far Cry 3.
Yep. So I won't be in ye boycott.

I don't understand the boycott though. Far Cry 3 is amazing.

I have yet to be able to connect to the servers on Far Cry 3. Their servers are awful.

  • 12.28.2012 11:35 AM PDT

I honestly don't see what the problem is with AC3. Desmond's story was iffy, but it has been since the first Assassin's Creed. Meanwhile, the character development and story while inside the animus were great, and dare I say better than in AC2.

The mechanics and feel of the game were also revamped. Everything was far more fluid than in the previous games.

As for multiplayer, I honestly don't even care. People are complaining about the same for Far Cry 3. Who the hell buys Assassin's Creed or Far Cry for the multiplayer?

They didn't milk Assassin's Creed.
Servers lolwut?
ACIII was a success.
ACIII was in development for three years.
Many people still like Splinter Cell.
Uplay jut gives you bonus stuff, which is nice.
Grow up.

My problem isn't the multiplayer, it's the fact that I have to wait thirty minutes for the game to log me in and download match history and all that junk that I never will even need just to play offline single player.

I've got a fan!

Assassin's Creed had yearly releases because they had multiple teams devoted to the project in order to get content out to fans in a timely manner. AC3 was in development simultaneously with Brotherhood.

Another issue people have with AC3 is that the controls are relatively different, with a strong focus on free running rather than scaling. The problem with that sentiment is that fans had gotten used to AC2's style of control, even though AC2 had as much of a difference to AC1 as AC3 did to AC2...AC3 is a sequel, not an installment like ACR and ACB; those of course would have similar feels. I personally enjoyed the new freerunning presence and thought they did a pretty decent job with it, from what I've played so far.

I enjoy most Ubisoft games... I will never boycott any particular company. I will instead evaluate each game as they are released and judge that title accordingly.
