a mossberg full price isn't even $450, you're being taken for a ride.

go to a different store.

Yeah, one with a normal wooden stock and lacking the pistol grip. I also live in California, so the price for a good firearm is higher.

nothing wrong with a wooden stock in my opinion.

and it must suck buying guns in cali.

I can get a mossberg for $120.

We pay a single extra fee when we buy a gun. 45 dollars for the DOJ to file our paperwork.

The dealer is taking him for a ride.

I AM NOT 21.

Or I would be buying a handgun.

I would check the legal age of owning a firearm, it maybe 18 in some states if i remember

in my stat when you are 18 you can buy a rifle or a shotgun, handguns can be purchased at age 21 (idk why its not the reverse)

In California, it's 21 to legally own a handgun.

People who want a gun just to own a gun aren't mature enough to have one.

you obviously cant read since in his OP he stated that he wanted to buy one to defend his family in a case of an emergency. Go back to kindergarten

and you would be surprised because a lot of people are mature enough to own a firearm

I've never seen a Mossberg in store for more than 350.

Was it brand spakin' new?

This would be a good time to point out that the US Government seriously did consider nuking the moon during the Cold War as a show of force. Project A119.

"A large explosion on the Terminator line would put the sun behind the mushroom cloud, making the explosion visible with the naked eye from Earth."

Then the US decided they'd just send in Neil Armstrong to land on it. Neil Armstrong - the one man on the earth that was considered a suitable replacement for a nuclear missile.

Really? I'm a veteran, and I own guns simply because I like to target shoot. 11B Infantry. So, you're saying that my training in safety, defense, and dicipline with the Army, as well as the Illinois firearm safety course, my weapon storage safe, and that I have never and will never show anyone the combination to my safe still makes me too immature to own a firearm?

You should get an AK-47, it's much better. Make sure you let a few rounds off out of your window every second Thursday of the month. That way your neighbors know not to mess with you.
minus those are banned in america
Just because they're banned in America doesn't mean you still can't get them in America. I know a few people in upstate NY who own AK's.

either they got hem over seas or from the black market but last time i checked purchasing or being in the possession of an AK is illegal. Since OP is just looking for a firearm to defend his home i seriously doubt an AK will suffice. While he will win when it comes to firepower, he may get arrested for possessing a banned firearm which wouldnt help at all
ninja wat?

AKs are legal in every single state in the USA.
it's just that not all variants are legal in every state.

and you can hunt with said AK, provided you use the right ammo.

it's just not god because Overpenetration, which will happen with every effective defensive load.

A shotgun is the way to go for home defense.

Definitely get a Saiga 12. They're perfect for home defense. I plan to purchase myself one here soon enough.

Might be a bit overkill, and out of the price range.

All you need for home defense is a good pump action 12 gauge with a 3' chamber and 18 to 20' barrel.

Es ist Zeit für einige Gefahr-pay

I'm more of fan of Springfield's M1

I'd buy it if I didn't live mostly on-campus.

I was joking. But was looking at purchasing a Saiga 12 at one point, since there was one available at Cabela's not too long ago. I was with my dad at the time and we joked that I'd have it for home defense or for shooting a bunch of squirrels.

UnitedBands.net

My band and artist networking/information site. Check it out!

I would actually go with the Remington 870hd if it were me. They're practically two identical guns in many ways, but I'd check that one out and see which of the two you like more. The 870 just felt better in my hands. And $430???, that's kind of on the high side. They're selling around $320-50 around my area (bought the 870 a few weeks ago).

Shop around online as well, it may take a week to get somewhere to pick it up, but saving a 100 dollars would be well worth it in my opinion, especially if the prices are that high in your area.

Like those two rifles I bought and took home last night and have to get rid of them because I don't have any way to feed them?

Maybe I will never be
All the things that I wanna be
But now is not the time to cry
Now's the time to find out why
I think you're the same as me
We see things they'll never see
You and I are gonna live forever

America must have a terrible police force if citizens are forced to buy guns in order to protect themselves.

OP, buy a baseball bat if you're a real man. Smash a burglar's face in as soon as he sticks his fat head through the door.

I don't know about OP, but in most places, it's for "Just in case" and not "I need this or I know I'll die".
