That's what people that aren't smart think.

... You kind of walked into that one.

Most people who claim to be smart are usually unattractive though. Between the two being attractive is far more useful. You can charm people more, get more dates, form better connections which lead to better opportunities, etc.
Also, hey, look at me on the left, the guy who got first in physics and aviation at Massey University in classes of 80 & 40 respectively.

Being smart and memorizing things aren't the same thing.

  • 12.28.2012 9:13 PM PDT

Eh not really. You can look up anything on the internet, but it's not the same as retaining information and studying a particular field for years. Yeah, you can LOOK smart by looking up quick facts and information but you'll never understand the deeper aspects of, well, anything, this way.

Ah, the internet. Where men are men, women are men, and children are the FBI.

A person with google knows that something works. The smart person, however, knows why it works. Its easy to see why the smart person is better off.
Wouldn't the smart person know how it works?
Yeah, that's what I was going for.

An example: The regular person knows that you press the button, and the computer turns on. The smart person would know why the computer knows on. So, if there was an issue, the smart person would be more likely to know how to fix the issue.

RIP Logan ~B.B.

There is a difference between knowledge and memorization, and there is a difference between being able to state a fact and actually knowing one. So you can google something, or even recite it from memory, what does that get get you? If you don't know what something truly means, and don't know how to find the answer when google doesn't have it, you aren't smart, you just have a bunch of -blam!- memorized.

So, let's say the internet suddenly gets cut off from you, and you're in a situation away from home, away from people. What's going to save your ass? Your smarts and knowledge of what to do beforehand, not looking up things on the internet.

People nowadays are too dependent and reliant on technology. A simple thing, such as a power outage, leaves people dead, in a warm climate. That's pretty sad in this day and age.

If Fed Ex and UPS merged into one company, would it be called Fed Up?

I don't want to start another account for a digital number that has no true value in ten years.

Using the internet to look up info is the same as reading a book, just more easier access. But taking knowledge and applying it is where being smart pays off.

Have fun being jobless and broke with no education and no place that would ever hire you.

Technically your phone has no knowledge, the software does.

I'm sorry that you're butthurt.

intelligence is the only thing I have so I do not agree.

  • 12.28.2012 9:34 PM PDT

Mreh.

Knowing trivia isn't a sign of intelligence, it's a sign of good memory. Intelligence is how you utilize that information.

Inappropriate. Went a little to far with the butt hole tearing.

You seem to be confusing knowledge with intelligence.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

Yeah while you take 1 minute I could have just finished what you needed to know. In fact, if you didn't know half of the stuff today, and just google it, things would just be slower in getting it done. In plus, I see usefulness in physique and intelligence.

I've challenged my beliefs. What is the book about?

I find that this is usually untrue. If religious people honestly, diligently and intelligently challenged their beliefs, there would be no religious people.

Being dumb isn't doing you very well.
