If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

Well, once again I decide to pit two games of different generations in a game of preference. Now you know the drill, which game do you prefer: The lovely Star Fox game all the way back in the Nintendo 64 era or the fine Star Fox game rooted in the Gamecube? This time, I simply won't choose for one reason: I haven't played both games efficiently enough to garner any opinion. If that doesn't makes sense, well it doesn't...

And it looks like John Cena is back.

I've only played Star Fox 64, but from what I've heard and seen of Assault, I probably wouldn't like it as much as 64. I think Star Fox is a series that should remain strictly and on-rails shooter.

I'm also curious as to why the -blam!- Nintendo hasn't made a current-gen Star Fox yet. It would work so well with the Wii.

Star Fox 64 (I've played both, although I didn't beat the final boss of assault)

I just felt the gameplay was smoother (although it might have been cause i played it on a gamecube emulator)

And starfox assault had to many land missions not enough good space ones...

And they completely changed every voice... seriously, wtf did they do to oikannys voice!?!?!

Not to mention andross was over all a better bad guy and I liked being able to pick the path I went on and over all enjoyed the levels more.

Assault is the same as 64, but also adds ground battles as well. Though I was never good at it as I was in the air, I found it as a nice change.

I much, much preferred Wolf's 64's voice over Wolf's Assault one.

Starfox Assault.

Playing the last mission on the hardest difficulty and succeeding made everything worthwhile.

They were both good, but the fact that they changed them so drastically was uncalled for.

In the japanese version of the game most of them still had there 64 voice actors...

Starfox Assault.

Playing the last mission on the hardest difficulty and succeeding made everything worthwhile.
I tried to do all the missions on gold without any of my squad "dying"... The final boss just shatter that dream into tiny little bits.

I doubt Assault would be the same as 64 if I played it. Wasn't it made by another developer like Rare or Namco instead of Nintendo?

The last mission itself was a good challenge, but the aparoid queen was the pinnacle of anger and frustration for me. It took blood, sweat, and tears to beat that -blam!-.

I've put way more hours into Starfox 64. Assault isn't terrible, but the voice acting is horrendous.

Maybe, but what I mean is that the air battles in my perspective is still overall the same. If you just minus the "routes" you could take in 64, anyway.

Rain, and Jazz.
Halo: Tactical

I'm either a fool or an inteligent man, depending on how sleepy or angry I am.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

Star Fox 64 hands down, but Assualt wasn't too bad.

I'd compare the two, but it has been ages since I played Assualt. I know it had better multiplayer for sure though!

Falco just loved to charge it... And if I save him Krystal will do a kamikaze instead. And then we have Slippy, always getting into trouble...

Ah okay. Star Fox 64 was one of my childhood games so it will always have a special place in my heart. Played through it again about a year or two ago and it was still pretty fun.

Starfox 64. I remember not even being able to beat Assault because of the ground missions being so annoying.

I played 64 last year, and I managed to beat Venom's Wolf dogfight by myself. Some people might find it easy, but I think it was quite the feat!

I am guilty of this on at least one occasion.
