Cool opinion.

In my eyes, they took out too much Halo and in return, put in too much CoD elements.

Now moving onto matchmaking. While Halo 4's multiplayer was not as good as Halo 3's was, it was still better than Reach's matchmaking by a LONG shot, and arguably even better than Halo 2--which, as much as you 20-something-year-olds will deny, wasn't actually that good. The only reason we liked Halo 2 so much was because of the nostalgia we have of it, seeing that for most of us, it was the first FPS game that we really delved into. But in reality, it was highly unbalanced, full of glitches and choppy as hell. Halo 4's multiplayer highly impressed me--especially since I was initially doubting how good it would be.

Better than Halo 2? Prepare to be flamed into oblivion.
Halo 2 Campaign is greater than or equal to Halo 4 Campaign.

Halo 4 MP > Halo 2 MP.

Coming from someone who hated Halo 2, I don't agree like at all. Halo 4 MP is just, a joke. A big fat joke. The campaign was very disappointing in Halo 4 compared to Halo 2. You know how linear it is compared to Halo Reach's campaign? You can't even get outside the freaking map in Halo 4. It pisses me off that you can't do that compared to the other Halo's. Too many f-in kill barriers.

Not to mention the fact that most of what you see out of the playable area isn't "solid."

Agreed, the skybox looks so -blam!-. Also, that galaxy in the multiplayer space map looks like -blam!-.

it wasn't too short like Halo 3

it took 4 and a half hours on heroic. It is unforgivably short

intense storyline with a lot of emotional depth and plot development

mfw

It had a waaaaay better plot than lolReach at least, and the campaign is full of allegories and metaphors about Chief's state of mind. I think it was done pretty well.

My ONLY complaint in regards to matchmaking is that I believe some vehicles are overpowered. The Ghost is WAAAY overpowered and too hard to stop, people can just get on a Ghost and splatter everyone until the game is over, over and over again until someone gets a heavy weapon.

Dude, you can spawn with a plasma pistol and plasma grenades. This is more than enough to take out any Ghost.

It can't be better than Halo 2 because Halo 2 had good maps.

...with a terribad and a laugh-worthy weapon balance, not to mention the HUGE killboxes. Seriously, the Halo 2 worshipping is getting annoying.

Laugh-worthy weapon balance? Someone hasn't been on the receiving end of a Binary Rifle or Incineration Cannon.

Huge Killboxes? Revy Sniping in Reach and Beam Rifle no-scoping in H4.

Oh people, you try to pin stuff on Halo 2, and I can easily show you how its still there in the new games.

Wow, it's like you've never heard of Quake or CS.

Everyone is trashing on H4, then it'll be H5, and so forth until forever.

Oddly enough, these people are the vocal majority, but are in the minority, if that makes sense.

Binary Rifle is countered by that big-ass laser when scoped that screams: "PLEASE! SHOOT HERE! I WANT DMR bullets through my back-end RIGHT NAO!!!"

My post was targeted to the people who claim that Halo 2 had any form of competitiveness. To be fair, if you're looking for a true hardcore experience, Halo is not your game.

I enjoyed Halo 4's story more than Halo Reach's, but, like others have said, it had it's ups and downs. However, I was satisfied at the end, and I'm looking forward to see what 343i does with the rest of the games.

In terms of multiplayer, I'm not enjoying it much. It feels less like Halo Reach (in terms of armor ability usage and player movement), but it still isn't the same as Halo 3. I understand that 343i is trying to change the formula though, so I'm not complaining that it isn't a carbon copy. However, one of my gripes is the vehicles. I feel like they are a lot weaker than in the previous games, almost to the point where there isn't much use in even using a Ghost or a Warthog, because they're destroyed so easily.

I also dislike the ordnance system. I liked the more static and consistent drop of power weapons in the previous Halo games. Map control was more important, and you always knew where and when certain weapons would spawn.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

I don't know really, I always just attracted to Halo. I understand they had to "noobify" it quite a bit, but Reach just crossed the line. The only reason I bought H4 was because it was supposed to be different and everything, and it did fix a lot of things, but it also broke things, and didn't fix enough to convince me to the next Halo. I've taken an interest in various TF2 tourney's and many other competitive games. I also wish MLG would add a playlist to H4 already.

And to your Binary Rifle comment...I can just wait for someone to pop up, quickscope them, and hide for 10 seconds. Rinse. Repeat. The laser was at least an attempt at balancing the gun. My main problem is that personal ordnance is far too spread between game-changing and useless, but I won't get too far into that.

Halo 4 blew me out of the water. The campaign was MASSIVE and amazing. Lots of new weapons and enemies, cool vehicles, it wasn't too short like Halo 3, and it didn't lack the exploration element like Reach. But it had it all. It was the full package. Cool fighting and combat, intense storyline with a lot of emotional depth and plot development, really detailed and long levels with the element of exploration, and some new twists by all the new vehicles. All in all, this was GREAT. A perfect 9.1/10 in my opinion. The campaign was on a level comparable to the campaign of Halo 2 and Halo CE. This was probably the game's strongest point.

I just feel like the series has been going backwards ever since Halo 3/ODST. A lot of the user-friendliness is gone. I don't think anyone actually uses their File Shares in Halo 4 (I've literally never seen anyone with something it in before, compared to Halo 3, my File Share was my pride and joy). Not to mention that a lot of the things that were available in previous games didn't make it to the sequels... Like Theater in Campaign. A user interface that didn't make you want to shoot yourself. The ability to do Spartan Ops off of Xbox Live (seriously, that's just wrong). Just a lot of small things that push me away. The multiplayer is good, though, as was the Campaign. The Campaign especially had some epic moments, even though it didn't have a great replay value, especially compared to Halo 3's for me.

Wow, I'd love to read a review of his for a game that scores lower than a 6....
