he didn't stop anything twice. the destruction of the first halo didn't wipe out the flood at all. a portion of alpha halo survived in tact with some flood there. (heretic missions). and delta halo was never destroyed, the ring was disarmed before firing, and is now armed for remote detonation. the fact that the flood now have cortana, whether her capture is willing or not, it only makes the flood more of a threat.

it seems that the flood did not capture cortana. the big flood thing seemed as an ally to me. he didnt kill master chief or the ariter and told them to stop halos.

quidproquo my friend. by keeping them alive he prevented delta halo from being fired. while MC and the arbitor were on their respective missions gravemind deployed the flood to high charity and caused all sorts of damage and basically captured the thing. i don't see him as being an ally, maybe not a direct enemy, but no ally.

it all depends on her really. if she is indeed rampant (past her service life) then she may be losing her 'mind' and helping the gravemind willingly. if she is just pissed at MC for not coming back it could be the same scenario. if she is captured then who knows what the gravemind can do to her. as a UNSC AI she has knowledge of everything humanity has to offer, not to mention the exact location of earth, which would be a nice target buffet for the flood.

but they flew with in short distances. i dont think that tehy would have time to get from that halo to this earth. before they starve.

slipspace

it takes longer than a couple days for 'em to starve

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.” – Psalms 46:1-3

hmmmmm sry but all you people are stupid but a few the flood simply go dorment when food is not around.........secondly the flood took over high charity and almost the entire covenant armada! and also they will not simply starve if they travel in slipspace christ covies ships travels 50 times faster then unsc class ships sooo in ending the flood simply have to push the button and they r on earth

So a brief summary. Flood can hibernate and survive hundreds and thousands of years. They can take over body's and access their memories. The Flood tried to take control of the Truth and Reconciliation in H1, and were searching through Captain Keye's memories for the location of Earth. Luckily MC destroyed that Halo before they could escape. On Delta Halo the Flood began taking over bodies again. This time they took over ships and flew to HIgh Charity. HIgh Charity can travel through space and is effectively a spaceship (although its a city). They now control HC. If they learn the location of the Covenant or Human homeworld then there is nothing to stop them setting a course and flying HC to them - journey time not being an issue for them. Only 'apparent' way to stop them now is to activate the rings from the Ark.

who said the flood hibernates?

the reason theyre still here after 100,000 years is cuz they were in stasis

if you activate halo and kill their food, they will starve. it wont be immidiate, but its not like they just "sleep"

they were kept for study in halo and in stasis.

now they will get to earth thru slipspace and not starve cuz covie ships do travel mad fast

word for word that is exactly what i said in my thread bro !!!

great minds think alike !!!!

( the only thing i disagree with is the hibernation........they were in stasis whilst on the halos and thats why they survived the 100,000 years)

If you wanna see an airplane cemetery, why don't you just find an old airplane and look at where it goes?

Actually, I believe that the levels in which the Arbiter fights the Heretics are not on a Halo. I think that they were on a different Forerunner Installation.

WHAT IM TRYING TO GET AT IS THAT THE FLOOD ARE CONTAINED IN A CONTAIMENT PLACE. THEY HAVE ESCAPED ONLY WHEN THE COVENANT AND \ OR THE MARINES TAMPERED WITH THEM. THE COVENANT FOUND SOMEHTING. AND NOW THERE AFRAID OF IT. TEHY CANT FLY SHIPS THERE IS NO SHIPS ON HALO. BUT NOW THAT THEY TOOK OVER THAT ONE PLACE. WERE PROBABLY IN DEEP CRAP.
