Subject: Must I Use A Sniper Rifle For The Recon Class ? (BF3)

Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

~Long Live Halo 2
Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Assault class > Everything else.
Umad your kill doesn't count for crap?

People are always going to complain about how you play.

Anyone who complains about "Misusing" a Sniper rifle is an idiot. Play how you want to play.

Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.

Play however you want to play. If it's fun to you don't let anyone else bother you. Besides surpressed MP7 and M1911 Surpressed with Recon class is amazing. Place a spawn beacon behind their spawn and run around killing them.

dat feeling when you plow a multi-ton covenant war machine.

You can always use the sks, it's really not a sniper rifle.

I hate MLP. It is cancerous and pretty stupid to see men watching a show for girls. They can deny the truth but the truth shall prevail!

"I will not fail even if I must sacrifice my life." - Siegfried

I got back into BF3 lately and I have been owning as a sniper. Usually, I just mark people with the mav and then pick some snipers off.

-blam!- you people who go no scope of ACOG scope on BF3.

  • 12.30.2012 9:16 AM PDT

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

Please tell more how "pro" you are at using the easiest class in the game. The class is made for people who aren't good in shooters or people who are new to the game.

Being a long range sniper can sometimes be hard cuz you have to compensate for latency. But OT you can play how you want to, doesn't bother me or most people posting here obviously.

  • 12.31.2012 9:58 AM PDT

Honestly, I'm sort of torn with this. One thing that I hate is when users abuse certain perks and guns that are available to them. Moreso, to the point of quick scoping, and using snipers for close quarter combat rather than what sniping was meant for.

But, to each their own. I'm more of a run and gun type gamer. I love running around with C4 and throwing it and getting that kill. So rewarding. :P

But meh, I just play the game and don't let it affect me too much.

Nope, you can use PDW's with any class.
Or shotguns.

I believe the class is called "Recon," and you're doing exactly what it specifies.

Play how you want to play, OP. Your game, don't let anyone ruin your experience.

Lurking since 2009

Ignore stupid teammates, play recon like you want!

OP, do you what you want.
Don't let someone jerk on LIVE tell you what to do.

Just please, please, PLEASE, PLAY THE F***ING OBJECTIVE

You were up close helping your teammates, so you're fine. I think that guy wanted you to sit a mile back from the battle and take pot shots at the enemy, like 90% of those who play the "Recon" class. It's a Recon class, not a sniper class and you played it like it was designed.

I'm going to say that this fits it pretty well, but the only times I ever get close to the enemies whilst using Recon is when I'm moving in for tags or just generally through the map. Aside from that, I'll be blowing heads off from over 400+ meters away.

Sniping from the spawn doesn't help the team in any way.

IMO, I'd prefer a Recon with a shotgun on any map than a recon sitting miles away from anywhere doing feck all.

Though you could use a different class to help with ammo and health, or taking out vehicles, it's your playstyle and if you're happy with it, continue on. Ignore the idiots who hate moving recons because they can't get their tags...

If anyone does complain about your playstyle, rub it in their face with a long teabag.

I don't snipe from the spawn unless being sniped upon at the spawn. I feel cheated and I feel like a cheat when I do so. My longest head-shot is 906.62m, and that was on my unsuspecting friend running in CB on CQ. Personally, I'll always use Recon for range, as I'm pretty much untouchable to the enemy team, as I've only ever been killed by my very same friend on the very same map with a 777.77m head-shot.

Spotting enemies, shooting people arming/capping a target area is what I do. That is supporting the team.
