Subject: Science.

Does anyone have a great at home science experiment I can do? I've recently started obsessing with physics mostly theoretical stuff like Quantum mechanics, but I'm wrapping my head around Geometricdynamics and Chromodynamics, blah blah blah

Does anyone have a great at home science experiment I can do? Like comparing changes under a microscope, I understand I won't make any breakthrough I just need a few hobbies for after and before work and before my study's, Hopefully something more complex?

I've got a fan!

For my Bio teacher's birthday I wrote 'Happy Birthday' in ebola on a petri dish. He incinerated it, but still enjoyed it.

The only one I know is the baking soda and vinegar reaction.

It isn't our shiznit anymore.

You could try the double-slit experiment in observed/unobserved situations. That's always cool to do.

What is Ebola?

On a sidenote: Is there anyway I can make anything identical to human cells or something along the lines of it so I can conduct experiments on those and try to figure out what could make them more immune to anything, I mean realistically speaking.

Get ants and microwave them. Test the effect of microwave radiation on ants.

Try growing bacteria in a dish.

It's so easy I do it by accident sometimes.

Jokes aside, it is a lot of fun.

Just get some jello and put it in a small container. Then use a cotton bud/Q-Tip tip to take a sample of bacteria, smear it on the jello and you're done.
Just wait for it to grow and then do what you want with it. Sometimes I compare them under a microscope to see the differences, other times I see how they react chemicals. It's all fun.

I hate the double slit experiment, with a passion but not for any really good reason besides that I just don't understand the uncertainty principle, it drives me crazy.

What do I use as bacteria? Or where can I find some?

Ebola Virus.

You have a practically infinite supply of human cells on your skin. Scrape some onto a slide and there ya go.

Where do I find bacteria?

They're everywhere.

the floor
the air
your hands
your feet
keyboards
mice
screens
touchpads
etc.

Scraping skin onto a plate and looking under a microscope? Or using blood?

"Ignorance is a plague."

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

You can get some epithelial cells pretty easily from the inside of your cheek.

In fact they are not found only in space and extreme enviroments.

If you have two or more toilets in your house, have a conversation by talking into the bowls.

I've tried this. Doesn't work.

RIP Logan ~B.B.

I've taken to rock collecting. It's fun to lean about the geological history of your home. Learn what oddities there are to find and hunt them down. Not exactly physics, but can often involve some chemistry, evolutionary biology, and might find some slightly valuable things. Finding sharks teeth in the heart of the Midwest raises fun questions.
