One day... I am gonna grow wings... A chemical reaction... Hysterical and useless... hystecial and let down and hanging around... crushed like a bug in the ground.

Seriously, I get the security side of things but modern CAPTCHAs are so bloody difficult to do.
3-4 years ago I didn't have this problem at all because they were far simpler.
Is it really that necessary for them to be so hard it is actually difficult for a human person to read the image? Doesn't that just defeat its own purpose?

It's because the various -blam!-s on the internet are developing/have developed more advanced software that can guess the earlier, more simpler CAPTCHA's.

Sapere Aude

"But I do not think we're invincible"

I'm guessing it's that the technology to read it has advanced significantly.

I'm really good at solving captchas because I solve them for money.

Don't laugh I'm only 16.

The way of telling humans and computers apart is so antiquated. Surely there is a better way that humans can actually complete.

I've seen some people actually use tiny mini games instead of captchas.

Blood samples. Each site you access you send in a vial of blood to the site hq via pneumatic tube. Then you're admitted in.

Considering I've never heard anyone else complain about CAPTCHAs being hard to do, I thought I was the only one who struggled to do them. Apparently not. The rise in difficulty seems self explanatory though, as there would be no need to change the system if it was infallible. It's not, and if they continue to rise in difficulty perhaps we should seek an alternative method... hopefully, before only bots are able to complete them.
