What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

Flawless campaign story. Confused? Watch the damn Terminals.
Wouldn't having to watch an outside source, so you wouldn't be confused, mean that the game story, is in fact not flawless?

How is an ingame source considered outside??

Maybe the fact that you have to go to waypoint to watch them. You just have to unlock them ingame first.

"When I joined the Corps, we didn't have any fancy-schmanzy tanks. We had sticks! Two sticks, and a rock for the whole platoon—and we had to share the rock!"

-Sgt. Johnson

Campaign- No flaws

Forge- It's perfect except the maps are too small

Multi-player- Not competitive at all, it's fun but just not competitive or satisfied to win. In all truth they just needed to improve Halo 3's multi-player.

Religion is stupid. Halo is amazing.

I really loved it. It's probably my favourite Halo game.

I only have a few gripes such as:
Fileshare system still messed up
Too small forge maps
The music is too cheerful, I want music to remember, like never forget
Spartan Ops got boring quickly
Battle rifle design, it looks nothing the battle rifle did in Halo 2 and 3. Randomly looks extremely smaaller with a funky scope.

Your 'beliefs' mean less than dick to me.

Pros
-Best aiming mechanics since CE.
-The BTB maps are good. Best group since at least Halo 2.
-Skill matching, although the fact that the Halo skill gap is the smallest it's ever been kills the buzz.
-The beginning and end levels of the campaign. The middle drags.
-Soundtrack, minus the dubstep crap and that Star Wars ripoff that played during half of Composer.
-Impact is a great forge map, even if the mechanics are a little off.
-Environments have been scaled up, so the game actually feels big again.

Cons
-Other than that last cutscene sequence (from the Green and Blue scene to the credits), the story was hilariously generic and very poorly done overall.
-Not enough ammo in campaign, every level forces you to do the weapon dance and ration your shots, as opposed to just letting you play. But, this has been an issue ever since Halo 2.
-Bad sandbox design.
-Emphasis on class based play.
-Skill gap continues to crumble.
-Awful slayer scoring system. 10 per kill, 600 to win? Lolz.
-Instant respawn.
-Armor abilities still exist.
-Bloom still exists.
-Sprint.
-LolCTF.
-Lolball.
-Lolregicide.
-LolSpartanOps.
-Custom loadouts. Especially boltshot and plasma pistol starts.
-Vehicles are still made of paper.
-The mantis is a joke.
-PODs are an unforgivably bad design idea.
-No weapons on map. The fact that RODs take their place is even worse.
-Haven and Abandon are the only playable 4v4 maps. The others either way overcompensate for sprint or just blow.
-The fact that Solace even exists is sad.
-Awful movement traits, including strafe.
-Godawful playlist management. Instead of doing something useful like bringing in that 'unmolested classic experience' that was promised, or BTB objective, they're busy dicking around with team regicide and FFA KOTH.
-Lack of object variety in forge maps. The pieces only look right with Impact. Ravine should have been forerunner pieces, Erosion (or some other third map) should have been covenant.
-Theater still isn't fixed.
-No visible ranks.

It's probably the worst shooter this year.

AA's are imbalanced.
Custom class system makes the game uninteresting.

  • 12.29.2012 7:11 AM PDT

Infinity Slayer is the worst thing that has ever happened to Halo.

  • 12.29.2012 7:14 AM PDT

Hmmm, I don't know what to say...

This.

Added negatives:
- Campaign was too short and has very little replay ability value due to its unnecessary restrictions, linear animations, and QTEs.
- The story was massively disappointing. Instead of acknowledging the events of past Halo games and building off of them (everything that has happened has lead to the Didact), the campaign felt lonely and un-epic as just about every old character is gone (the Arbiter?), you need to have background information to understand it, and the graphical design made you think all of the events in the other Halo games never happened. There were Spartan IIs with upgraded Mark VI armor from right after the augmentations when we know the Chief got his Mark VI from Halo 2 and upgraded it to a unique style on the Dawn. The teaser trailers seemed to stick to canon, however, and this made for a very contradicting game experience.
- Multiplayer graphics are too fast paced and cartoony.
- the fact that you have to choose loadouts makes for a very forced multiplayer experience.
- The music is great, but was horribly placed in the Campaign and lacked both a central theme and the complete original Halo theme (again, they should have built off the old music and introduced us to new sounds through it).
- The game just feels incomplete.
- The art style, specifically the lighting, doesn't look as good as Halo 3. I don't know why.

This is essentially my thoughts on H4.

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

Very good, campaign was exceptional and I genuinely can't see how people fault it so much. MM is pretty average though I feel a majority of its issues could be fixed simply by adding competitive playlists to separate the two types of players.

Spartan Ops is meh but I won't complain since it's free atm.

  • 12.29.2012 10:58 AM PDT

Pros:

-It looks nice
-It sounds nice

Cons:

-Bad story
-Bad voice acting (though this was in most Halo games)
-Spartan Ops is the least fun thing I've done in a game in my entire life
-Multiplayer is beyond terrible
-Need more fun playlists like Halo 3 or even Reach
-Need more fun gametypes
-Terrible maps
-343 needs to stop being such bad devs

Pros:
- Dialogue and characterization is the best it's ever been
- Terminals were very cool and I genuinely enjoyed the story
- It has good graphics
- Sound design is good (Warthog is an exception)
- Universal Sprint is actually not bad

Cons:
- Boring multiplayer, every match feels the same as the last
- Campaign was a button-pushing sightseeing tour
- Custom Classes are not Halo. Sorry, I hate when people say stuff like this, but it's true.
- Custom Game options are atrocious
- Forge mode has been nerfed from Reach
- Forge maps are terrible
- Removal of a ton of gametypes
- Prometheans aren't good enemies, they just have a ton of health and the ability to teleport
- Spartan Ops is a joke
- No campaign or SpOps scoring
- No campaign theater
- Dynamic lighting doesn't work in theater
- Bad maps
- Return to battlefield needs to go away and die
- No file browser (I don't care if it's being added in later, it should've been ready on launch)
- TERRIBLE user interface

  • 12.29.2012 11:03 AM PDT

-Campaign was good
-Spartan Ops was pretty disappointing
-Certain game types aren't available in theater.
-Still no co-op theater
-Multiplayer is fun, but not really addicting
-Good Forge system, but we need good Forge MAPS
-Customgames system is awful

There's definitely better games out there than Halo 4, but it's still good.
