Okay so I have been unable to connect to XBL for the past few days. I use an ethernet cable that connects from my laptop into to the xbox. When I test connection it says the Xbox is connected to the network however it fails the network to internet part? Any idea how to resolve this please?

Can't you plug in your Xbox directly to your router?

I don't know why you're connecting your Xbox... to a laptop. You need to be connecting it to your router or modem.

It's the modem. Phone your internet provider company. Tell them to come over and fix it. Pay them to fix it then have a happy life wasted on XBL. K?

Maybe reset your router? Or connect to the cable to the xbox/use a wireless adapter if it's too short.

My modem/router is in a seperate part of my house.. I just connect my xbox to my laptop and I guess that works as a modem/router as I don't have a wireless adapter.

Oh, did you bridge the network between your Xbox and laptop? I've done this before but forgot the details.
