I do not want to stop asking. I do not ask to stop wanting.
I think my main problem with the campaign is that while it's a very good sequence of events, I can't pull up an emotional overtone for the rest of the game. 343 has specifically said that they were going for this- Kenneth Scott said that the art for Halo 4 was about setting a tone for each experience rather than the entire game, and Neil Davidge's (fantastic) score is 15 different key themes.
When I try to put my finger on a certain tone, a certain... vibe or feel like how Halo CE (ambient, alien wonder), 3 (exalted, ancient journey), and ODST (dark, lonely, isolated) had, I can't find one. It's a conglomerate the tones from the other games and it works really well for the moment, but when I think back to the overall game, I can't find a cohesive vibe that it gives off.
But yeah, I still love the campaign.
