No.

I was ready to agree with you on the basis of the title, but your actual post hurts my brain.

And here I was, thinking this was going to be on-disc-dlc.

I agree. I've spent the most time in any multiplayer game on Halo 3, Halo PC, Battlefront 2, and TF2 (let's face it, items are disregardable). It just takes the fun out of it, I don't know why.

No, you're not... You are entitled to the game, as it is designed.

If that is not satisfactory, you are also entitled to not purchase it.

Why would you be entitled to everything on the disk?

You're a stupid post. And yes you are entitled to what you buy, but you can't honestly expect to have everything unlocked right when you put the game in.
What if they actually did that for like Halo 4?

Everyone pops in their disc and everyone starts out as an SR-130 with all the weapons and skins and armors and whatnot. How in the hell is that appealing AT ALL?

Purchasing a disk gives you a license to use the content on the disk in the manner that the owner of the disk's intellectual property deem appropriate. For a game, that means you have to unlock features such as multiplayer weapons and ranks if they choose.

I am the God Emprah of Mankind.

Deal with it.

You purchased the game. Not the ability to manipulate the game because you were unhappy with having to play it to get things.

You are.

And you get what you buy.

Note that there may be more content than what you paid for on the disc. And no, you can't have that for free.

"Ignorance is a plague."

Close, but the plague killed those infected with it, and the ignorant are still alive.
I wish ignorance was a plague.

If you use cheats to get everything, it removes all the satisfaction that you would get from earning it on your own. If everything was unlocked from the start, it would have the same effect.

I honestly can't tell if the OP is serious or not.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

I'm sure someone has said this before now, but, no you are not.

When you purchase a disk, you are purchasing a license to use the software contained on the disk, as described in the EULA. By playing the game, you are agreeing to the EULA.

The license is at the will of the IP owner, in this case the developer. They choose what features you will, and will not, have. You are not entitled to anything other than what is sold to you. If you don't agree with a particular EULA, then don't buy that disk. There are plenty of other games out there.

  • 12.29.2012 11:36 PM PDT

Your average nice guy on The Flood.... D: ..... WAIT A MINUTE....

I have no problem with unlocks, so long as they don't give players an advantage over others, provided it's a multiplayer game. If we're talking about disk-locked content which you have to pay for, so that the developers can pretend that they made DLC for us, no. That's extremely unethical.
