In the winter my job is to clear snow, and in central alberta we get a ton of it, so it becomes a bit of a pain in the ass.
Although, at the same time, I get to enjoy snowboarding in the mountains, where there is about 12 ft of straight powder.
Absolutely amazing to crash in, because it is just like a pillow, but at the same time such a pain in the ass to get up out of because you will sink right to your shoulder trying to get out of it.
Took this last weekend.
I went snowboarding for the first time last year. It was fun, but at first I couldn't really get the hang of it, so I fell every ten feet or so at the top of the slope, in the powdery snow, breaking my bones trying to get up. I finally started getting it by the time I got to about the middle. So I'm going down the rest, when I realize that I'm going way too fast, and had no idea how to slow down and safely stop. I'm nearly at the bottom, see the lodge and a bunch of people about 100 yards away, and I start freaking out. Just then, I finally slide out of control, my life flashes before my eyes, and I tumble and slide for about about 30 feet.
I thought I was going to look down and see my legs in a crumpled heap, but I was fine. The rest of the trip after that was fun, I'd like to go again.
