Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

I love the classics as much as the next person. The nostalgia with Emerald is overwhelming, but when I take off the nostalgia glasses and play the new games I can appreciate their greatness.

The new games take a lot of flak because they are different. I'll admit I scratch my head sometimes when I see a pokemon design, but there were definitely some messed up pokemon in the classics. The new games combine brilliant story telling and worlds with the new pokemon and regions. The graphics are enhanced and the new battle modes are beyond fun.

My favorites of the new generation would be Pearl and White 2. If you want a well made rehash of a classic I encourage you to pick up Soulsilver or Heartgold. For those on here who won't play the new games, I want to hear why you won't play them.

I challenge you to buy/borrow Platinum or Black and White 1 and see how you like them. I think you will be surprised

It's just nothing changes except the pokemon, and they're the thing that shouldn't be changing.

Rawr Im a dino!

I loved Gen III and I could deal with Gen IV, however Gen V just seems like they completely ran out of ideas. Although I do like how the main enemy in the game has some moral standing.

Here is the thing OP I don't hate them because of the games I hate them because of the anime.

but that is where your wrong. Black and White we have rotation battles, triple battles. Hell there is a Pokemon you can combine with another one to make it more powerful.

I'm not done with the main story of White 2 yet, but team Plasma has split up. Good team Plasma vs bad team Plasma. it is actually very interesting

A cornered fox is more dangerous than a jackal.

And from FOX, two phantoms were born.

I love the newer games, Gen V has so much content.

The games got a bit repetitive after the third generation. Collect Pokemon, fight bad guys, get Master Ball, beat gyms, catch rare pokemon, fight elite 4.

I don't have to buy a new Pokemon game to do that. I can do that on my old Red game.

We all wear masks and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing our own skin.

I returned Pokemon White within a week.
The new games are complete trash and so are the Pokemon.

I see your point, but doesn't the same story get old after awhile? White 2's story is fantastic and the world is great

I can see why people won't get the newer generations, and although there is new stuff, things like triple battles seem a bit excessive.

I will admit, double battles revolutionised Pokémon, and completely original and amazing game within Colliseum and XD came from them, but now, I mainly get the new games for the competitive community, and old times sake.

trust me triple battles are extremely fun. rotation battles also allow for a lot of strategic thinking.

Hate the looks of the new pokemons, haven't played after Gen 3, so can't hate the games. Only the pokemons...

That's understanding enough. For me, nothing will beat Gen II or Gen I
