Subject: Dark Souls Help! Total Noob

Hello men of the Flood! I borrowed Dark Souls off a friend a month ago for Xbox, and after playing a while (I passed Taurus Demon), I decided that I should buy it for PC to get Prepare to Die Edition(they told me it had tons of more content). With a strove of luck, the Holiday Sale came!

I payed half price for the game and decided to give it a go.

I played for a while, and I must say that I hate using a shield. I love being a fast character, and in all games that allow it, I love playing quick, aggressive builds that allow me to roll or cartwheel away from baddies and retaliate with a flurry of damaging attacks.

I think I saw something called Shadow armor which allows you to go invisible, maybe? I was also told that something called Priscilla's dagger allows you to keep attacking without stopping?

As you can tell, I'm a total noob at the game, and what I just told you probably makes no sense at all.

Anyway, is it possible to complete the game and play with a fast, assassin/rogue type build where he doesn't use a shield and instead dual-wields some badass blades? I asked the same thing to my friends, but I didn't get that much of a straight answer other than "be good at dodging and check the Wiki page, it has all the answers".

I checked the page, and have no idea where to begin, nor what to acquire and all that jazz.

I don't know a ton that can help you, but I know Priscilla's Dagger is an item you can get from a boss a little more than halfway through the game. She's found in the Painted World of Ariamis, you can get there from Anor Londo if you have the Peculiar Doll that you can get if you return to where you started the game.

That's probably a little complicated, but if you look up the Painted World, it should tell you more details. I believe you have to cut off Priscilla's Tail to get the dagger.

He threw down a glove you made the mistake
Of picking it up now you're gone
The choosing of guns or fighting with swords
The choice of weapons is done
He'll tear you apart as soon as you start
You know you don't have a chance.

You can get through it with a "fast assassin/rogue type build where he doesn't use a shield and instead dual-wields some badass blades?"

But here's the catch; you'll need to become better at the game.

yeah I realized that when I relied so much on the shield. However, assuming that I will pick up on the game (what'll stop me?) what do I do for the technical stuff? (A.K.A what weapons are better than others, fast, light armor sets, stat management, etc.)

I know it's a TON to ask for, because I've played similar games where you have to manage this stuff (WoW for many years) but could you give me some pointers on where to find this info, or where to start on the Wiki page?

If you're at the beginning, then get Drake sword.
Else, get Crimson set and learn about upgrading your armory.
Invest in endurance for stamina, equip burden and bleed res.
Get Havel's ring and kill Lautrec for his ring.
Lastly; Get Grass Crest Shield.

Pretty much what you need to get started on a fast character, the rest is up to you.
