I'm looking for a new Xbox headset. I was going to get the Razer Chimaera headset then it is sold out and ridiculously priced because of that. I'm mainly looking at Astro and Tritton now.

I have used turtle beaches and they just feel cheap to me.

Obviously astro. But they are way to much money

Personal preference. Personally I like Astro's but turtle beaches aren't bad.

I recommend looking up reviews. I only tried the Turtle Beach so I can't tell you.

The most dangerous gunslinger in the west.

If you got deep pockets then Astro is best.

Turtle Beach has some $50 headsets that are pretty good which I'm using right now. X12 I believe.

I'm not so good with advice...Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

Ive used Turtle Beaches for a few years. I got Astros for Christmas and they blow Turtle Beach out of the water. No contest there. I had one pair of Trittons, and while they lasted, they were decent, but broke after about 2 months. Never had a Razer headset, but i love my DeathAdder.

Astros FTW.

Turtle beach are decent for the money but Astro's are the best, just cost more.

I use Turtle Beach Headsets and I love them. I've heard great things from Razer as well.

  • 12.29.2012 9:08 PM PDT

The only set I've ever owned was the Trittons, and I've never had any issues with them at all.

Astro is best. But TB for bang for your buck.

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

Astro and Triton I know are pretty good.

I've heard Turtle Beaches are decent if you have a tight budget, but otherwise aren't the best.

They don't think it be like it is...

But it do.

I've only used Turtle and Tritton, but the Trittons I had totally sucked ass compared to Turtle Beach X12's.

Beach or bust

Boltshot = mini shotgun

I use Turtle Beach XP300s and they're great. I heard Astro headsets were better, but they're really expensive.

心の中に弱い風が吹いています。

It's hard to compete with Astro. However I just stick to the licensed wireless headset you can purchase for the 360. My Halo Reach one is still running strong.

I got A50's and they are nice but my only issue was that the sound cut every once and a while for half a second but I updated the firmware on the headset (Yes the headset has firmware updates) and reciever and it works perfect now. Just make sure to update it and it works perfect the sound is amazing it almost feels like you have sound implants in your ears I also love how the mixamp is on the side of the headset so you can control if you want more voice or volume very easily and another cool feature is that if you want to mute your voice you just simply move the mic up and it will mute.

If I were to complain about something it would be that although it is wireless it still has the cord that goes from the controller to the headset on the 360 but on the playstation 3 and PC it is wireless. Another thing that would be nice would be Bluetooth capability because then I could use the headset with my cell phone to listen to music without having to unplug and move my reciever to a closer spot to use the audio in plug on my phone (cable sold seperately) and one very minor complaint is that when the "earmuffs" are turned 180 degrees and its on your neck the edges on the headset feel pretty sharp on your neck. Another small but potentially big complaint is that the lithium ion battery is built in so if the battery dies you have to send them in for repairs which I'm sure is complementary.

In conclusion I personally think they are worth the price of 300$ minus the cons and keep in mind that the updates can fix the non physical issues with the headset I was actually amazed when it told be what the update was fixing it was like "holy crap they can do that"

Astro's. I got a pair of A40's on right now actually. The 2013 edition has a couple problems but they are fixed with firmware updates except for one. If the regular USB is used then the game sound will cut out on occasion. I use my PS3 controller USB and it never happens though.
