Because it means we're better than you, you -Blam!-.

You're still not doing it right.

I also laugh when people will type out "-blam!-" but incorrectly type it, so it just makes them look stupid.

Because -blam!- looks ugly. Better have it display as I see fit.
Really? I always thought it had a simplistic beauty to it.

But at least you have a reason.

I will self-censor all that I f**king want you a**hole.
That's great. But why?
Because the censor they use here looks bats**t retarded, and I dislike it. And besides, the way I do it makes which words I use clear to anyone who already knows them, but still leaves out letters for those who don't. Best of both sides.

Well, pardon me for being -Blam!-ing unique.

Do you have nothing better to do than pick on people who don't conform to your -Blam-ing ideas?

Or for the people who type the word out, but replace a letter with a *, then get banned for bypassing the filter.

Ugh...

Hey, if they've got an issue with it, they can blame their own idiotic censor that they have in place. I'm not hurting anyone by doing it my way, but if they've got something wedged up their asses and really want to ban me for my harmless alternative, then fine. I can just use an alt anyway, so there isn't a point to it.

The only thing I can think of is that people don't realize it filters automatically, but even that doesn't make much sense to me.

As for the filter, I'm fine with it. It rarely makes it too difficult to understand what people say and it's easy enough to get around.

Well, at least we have the other view.

It's not a matter of being tough, it's a matter of going against stupid rules that shouldn't be there in the first place. Even if I don't make a difference myself, hey, at least i'm showing what I think.

Or maybe we don't want to come off as -Blam!-holes.
Because you are afraid.

But rules are rules, aimed at improving the browsing experience of others. Why are they then stupid?

  • 12.29.2012 11:23 PM PDT

how is hamd?

I think the word filter is a bit too strict. Some words have multiple meanings, so it's annoying when the word you are trying to use gets blammed.

Still, not all rules are perfect. While i'll admit, this is more of a minor annoyance rather than a big issue, it's a matter of principle. Don't settle for what could be improved, and don't accept what is given to you if it could be changed for the better.

Just speaking generally, now. Not specifically about this insignificant example or topic.

Then surely your expression of principle should include an explanation of how the improvements should occur?

Once I get to a point where they actually would be implemented, or seriously considered, certainly. Those ideas are null and void for the time being, though. And will most likely remain that way due to how things are run around here, but i'll be damned if that stops me from sticking to my principles.

If I haven't fired you yet, it's because I'm still firing your mom in bed.

OP, I do that sometimes and my honest answer is to mess with people. They're like "did...did you just self censor yourself?" and I'm like "yep." Then they kinda act speechless and continue on with what they were doing.

It's momentarily entertaining.

Games I like:,
Half-Minute Hero
MBU
Portal
Halo 3 is the best Halo ever
Maps I like: Turf, Avalanche, Pylon, Sandbox, Breakpoint and many more.

Well, I'm sure it didn't cover the word -blam!-, because I saw it in a Halo 3 thread.

OT: I'll self censor all I want, so -Blam!- off.

I definitely believe every wildly inflated claim ITT.

Weow kid, do you even lift?

Skype: au-simon

I think the censor is too strict, and I think the censor should be optional in private groups. If the option is that the censor is turned off, an automatic irremovable disclaimer is displayed on the font page and a red "explicit" sign is listed next to it.

OT: I wouldn't bother self censoring. It's easier to let it be done for me.

Seriously though.

-blam!- you.
