Ive seen that quite a lot on other anime sites would you give a short summary what it is about?
Its about a desert society in japan after a nuclear apocalypse. It focuses on a 17 year old hero for hire, who has a legendary status as a badass, with lots of slapstick and sex themed humor. He is arrogant and a giant perv, but does have a good side, and takes on a young apprentice, on the agreement of being his sex slave when she is old enough. It turns more serious in the second half of the season. Great show, doesn't take itself seriously, One episode revolves around him defeating a sex demon by the sheer power of his overwhelming perversion, and great animation and action sequences.
This all sounds very similar to Sanji...
Ive watched tons of anime, even some one piece, which i didnt get into, and i think Desert Punk is one i would suggest to everyone for a series based on a manga, other than obvious movies which are breathtaking from ghibli.
Still love that coup
Desert Punk has been on my backlog for years. May need to push it up.
Id put it in style in comparison to school of the undead in humor and fan service, but it isnt as overwhelming in fan service as the other.
You need to separate the series from movies btw.
Another good series i dint see is samurai champloo
Movies are a must- anything ghibli, ghost in the shell, Venus wars, Akira, Grave of the Fireflies, 5 centimeters per second, Vampire Hunter D, Cowboy Beebop, Samurai X, ninja Scroll,Metropolis, My neighbor toro toro, perfect blue, steam boy, fist of the north star, howls Moving castle, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Jin roh, Earth Sea, Paprika, etc.
Not a complete list, but for anyone new to anime, its a list of must watch movies, to get an idea of what you like.
The movies tend to have a higher production value, almost comparable to hollywood movies, and as such the plot and animation is amazing.
