Been looking through some stacks of old games and pulled out a copy of Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, a game released after CoD 2 came out on the 360, and, what a gip, it was released on sixth-generation consoles only! Huge mistake, as it is my personal favorite in the series, and it could use a graphical remake or at least a 360 port. It's fantastic and unfortunately I don't know a lot of people who even know about it. Me, myself, I'm not huge into the Modern Warfare games, but they can be enjoyable sometimes. Black Ops and its sequel are okay, too, but I like the WWII games, I like its roots, World at War was a step in the right direction that kind of evolved into Black Ops, but I didn't really like those campaigns. Remember, this is all opinion-based and please don't bash anyone.

Also, I had to make MW, 1 + Finest Hour and 2 + Big Red One into one or two options because I only have so many poll options to work with.

WaW, because Treyarch had balls to put some blood in

For me, the last good CoD was Modern Warfare - after that it just went downhill and I haven't bothered buying one since Black Ops.

WaW is a great this-generation Call of Duty game, and it saddened me that it was pushed aside for the MW series.

MW2.
FAMAS.
TMP.
AK-47.

Had the best guns in the series.

Cod 4 and 5 were awesome, proper call of duty's. There wasn't airstrikes and helicopters flying around every second, you needed to skill to win. The combat also required more skill. This went a little downhill from MW2. The stories were okay though for the rest of the series.

'Ey, I explained my reasons as to why, and MW2/3 is more similar than 1 and 2.

How could you like MW2 over all others? I don't see the appeal, besides the final levels.

By the power of truth, I, while living, have conquered the universe.

Black Ops.

Easily the best story in the series, very well written, and I still enjoy going back to the multiplayer every now and then - unlike the others currently gathering dust on my shelf.

Zombies was great too, I loved the story that gradually expanded across the DLC packs.

That newest Call of Duty that came out on November 6th, 2012. What's it called again?

  • 12.30.2012 3:57 PM PDT

I got my xbox the year MW2 came out, and in that year everyone in my grade played it, so MW2.

Call of Duty 4.

After that I was excited for MW2, and then was very disappointed.

"I will show you how a true Prussian officer fights!"

"And i will show you where the iron crosses grow..."

- "Cross of Iron"

Finest Hour, Big Red One, Two, and three.

Also 4 is an honorable mention as well.

"Welcome to Stalingrad you are about to begin the greatest moment of your life!"

He threw down a glove you made the mistake
Of picking it up now you're gone

The choice of weapons is done
He'll tear you apart as soon as you start

Granted I didn't pay any of the first or second one, but I'll always remember CoD4 to be the -blam!-, it was so good. Yeah, I was 12 but I'd always remember playing that game for the first time and be amazed at the graphics and whatnot. The single player was freaking awesome to play through, so many great levels and setpieces (The Bog, All Ghillied Up, the nuke); the game was definitely a high point.

Multiplayer was brilliant too, I don't think I raged quite as hard as any of the others, and if I did I had the luxury of going back and forth between Cod4 and Halo 3 (I remember those forum wars lol). I loved every map in CoD4, and I remember really making tons of classes because everything was balanced enough, at least compared to the games that came after it; nothing beats the M40A3 with ACOG and Stopping Power, lol.

So yeah, Call of Duty 4 was -blam!- awesome.

Black Ops was surprisingly good. Took me a while to get into it, didn't care for the first few missions, but it got good.

For all questions with answers unknown to you, the proper procedure is to assume the answer is peanut butter.

While that may be true, I'm just going to pretend otherwise.

Probably CoD4 for the maps and custom class choices, and private matches were awesome. WaW is very close behind, but the limited weapon variety (which is unavoidable in a WW2 game) and constantly playing against modders, using everything from a rapid fire controller to aimbots, kind of killed the game for me. My friends never really got into it either.
