At first, I hated them mainly because I thought it was stupid to watch a little girls show. While I do think it is still stupid, it is no longer my predominant reason for my hate. It lies with the community. Annoyingly posting pictures of ponies everywhere (random searches for images somehow lead me to MLP), bringing it up where it does not belong, and getting extremely defensive by any amount of criticism. Hell, it is even worse when they ponify everything, even themselves like the Sonic fanbase with its unoriginality.
People say it is a vocal minority, but I think that is really just BS. Two people I know in real life that are indeed Bronies are very annoying and fit the generalizations of Bronies. One of them even shoved a stupid drawing he made of a pony right into my face, and I'm being literal with the shoving. Also, I've been on TF2 and there are so many Bronies with pony sprays and even rule 34 pony sprays everywhere. Heck, a couple of them were screaming in the mic like a bunch of little kids.
All of this has irritated me to no end as it seems like anywhere I go, MLP is there. Bronies don't know when they cross the line, which is constantly being crossed. Also, the hypocrisy behind this "love and tolerance" is pretty bs since they don't tolerate the opinions of others.
And that is why I hate Bronies.
Fair enough.
I just don't understand the presumption that I'm like that, or anybody else is like that.
Take a stroll across the local mall, or down a busy street and know that one or more of them could go home and enjoy MLP.
Just seems a weak base to generally hate anyone who would call themselves a brony. But there's a difference between someone who enjoys the show, and a brony. Hell, I could enjoy watching the show, but that doesn't make me brony. Bronies are fans of the show. They collect the toys, they make fan art and stories, they go to conventions.
There isn't though.
A brony is a male (Or female, whatever.) who enjoys the show My Little Pony.
Plain.
The problem is that the term "Brony" has become an insult. It seems as if nowadays it comes along with the negative meaning. Saying you're a brony to most people means that you go on the internet and post ponies everywhere and spam the music and draw the pictures and everything else. There is no difference between the guy who watches MLP and a Brony.
We aren't all like that.
Rainbow's got it down too.
