...That the necromancer is Sauron (couldn't fit it in the tile bar)
I'm curious as to wether it is common knowledge, that the necromancer is sauron? I was just playing Lord of the rings:War in The North (Great, underated game by the way), when I asked legolas about Dro Guldur (The castle that radagast encountered the necromancer in)he said "the castle of the dark lord, until the year of the dragons fall" with the dragon obviously being smaug, and gro-guldur being the necromancers fortress, I decided to do A little digging around to see If I was right. And I was, as stated Here

It's unlikely that you'll need one but here's one anyway:
TL:DR: I figured out that the necromancer is sauron. is this something that everyone knows, or something that will be revealed in 'the Hobbit: There and back again'?

I just saw a green monkey nut shot a small tan lizard(?) in a gunny sack.

I don't think the Necromancer was ever revealed as Sauron in the book. I think it was implied, and it may be revealed as such in the movies for the people that never read the book.

"It is the cruelest fate, to have written words that meant well and see them made wicked and unwise. What was meant to encourage life, used instead to justify taking it."

Yes, the Necromancer of Dol Guldur is Sauron. He was cast out of Dol Guldur the same year Thorin and Company went to Erebor, and afterwards fled to Mordor to regain his power. We'll most likely see the White Council attack Dol Guldur in the next film.

Yeah, it's easy to figure out if you read The Hobbit and LOTR.

Possible spoilers for those who didn't read the books, though.

I haven't read the book in years (just started again, got to chapter 3 so far) so the book weren't really much help to me. I was suprised that it wasn't mentioned were Gandalf got the map and key from in the film though.

I'm guessing this will be shown at the beginning of the next film as a flashback, similar to how The Two Towers began with a flashback showing how Gandalf survived his fight with the Balrog.

I knew that. I think it says a few times in the LOTR books that Sauron was in Dol Goldur before being in Mordor.

I've only read, Fellowship, and the Two towers, and even then it was years ago.

gogurt us just yogurt

Sauron. It's not confirmed in the book but that's because Tolkien hadn't decided if the Hobbit and LotR would be linked yet. That's why orcs are called goblins and trolls can speak.

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

It's mentioned in an appendix somewhere I believe.
