protip, both endings are bad endings. in one, essentially nothing changes as you just replace lord gwyn, a bunch of people are now dead, and that's it. The other, eternal darkness. Yeah. i guess it's just the lesser evil to link the fire. maybe. i don't know. or maybe helping man ahead is really the better option... your choice really.
That is an idiot tip since it isn't accurate.
how so? it's pretty much accurate.
linking the fire preserves the age of the gods, the fire is rekindled, and fire is secured for eons to come, or however long your soul lasts. it's assumed you'd replace gwyn watching over the kiln of the first flame. So really, nothing changes, it's just your soul being eaten away to preserve the flame instead of gwyns fading soul.
the dark lord ending has no one keeping the flame alive, so it goes out and ushers in an age of darkness, or an "age of man" In which everything will slowly die off as you rule over the survivers, or man, probably.
Those are the endings as i see them at least, and both seem fairly bad.
if there's something i'm missing, please fill me in.
