Sure. I'll just load up my laptop's hard drive full of big fat games.

Did I mention that my laptop has a 150gb hd?

They do have external hard drives if that is an option for you.

Eh I'm getting a new laptop soon...hopefully.

I planned on getting one this year...but then I found out I needed to drop about $1k for diving gear this summer...so...maybe next year!

Diving is better than having a new laptop so you have an excuse.

Yeah well I can't purchase games because I don't have a credit card or something else, yet.

You can get gift cards from gamestop and use those.

They're at Best Buy as well now.

Well, sadly there are no Best buys close to me either.

Just because you can fit plenty of games on a 150gb hdd.
28 games are taking up 500 gigs on my hard drive, and that's barely a fourth of all of the games in my library. I may have to pick up a second HDD eventually.

I only have a 250 GB HDD/ 1 GB DDR3 memory for my laptop. I don't have that fancy computer like you.

Yeah I'm getting my scientific cert soon and hopefully an internship at an aquarium so...I need basically everything but a tank.
Diving is so much fun but so expensive at the same time.

That's a hard one, you may be out of luck. I know that Steam isn't a good out of the States anyway.

I don't game much on my PC, but Steam is pretty amazing. Bought all the GTAs and the Sims 3 last night for less than $30.

I feel like that is an outlying statistic. Games average 6 gigs, 6x28=168. games vary sometimes, and even get up to 15 gigs but even then 15x28=420.

1) You realize that big games usually range from 6-50ish gigabytes. Even consoles have games that big. If you try to install an Xbox game, it's usually at least 6 gigs. Uncharted 3 for example is 45 gigs.
2) You would need a better computer anyways. If you save up $300-$350 you can have a pretty decent gaming computer that can play any game. Grant it not on max, but they'll run.

1) Like I said...Civ IV + Expansion packs = waaay too big.

2) I know...looking to get a new one...problem is...I use Macbooks...

I have no problem with Steam DRM. It's not like it's intrusive or anything. I just have to be logged into my account to play my games; pretty simple

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

I just got a desktop PC and Steam was one of the first things I've installed on it.

I used to be you, using Macbooks and stuff. I recently spent about 1.2k on a gaming PC rig I built. Best decision I've ever made.

Eh well for me, at least for the foreseeable future, I'm gonna stick to Macs.

Always been a Mac fan. Love the OS and the build of their laptops.
Also great for music which is the biggest reason I use Macs anyways.

I have 83 games that take up around 700GB. Honestly, HD space isn't an issue when TBs cost less than a new console game.

This, I'm actually about to buy one since I have a lot of Steam games and make videos. Sometimes video can be up to 50 gigs after they've been edited with After Effects.

yeah, good decision, macbooks are way overpriced and not even that good.

They are overpriced...but I honestly think that their lifespan helps balance the cost.

I mean I'm using a 4(almost 5) year old Macbook and, besides the small HDD, it still feels only a year old.

The software still updates great. It's still in great physical condition(aluminum body ftw!). Hell, I can actually run games still, and it's still fast.

In the same time span I've had this laptop, my mom's gone through 3. Granted one of them was cheap, but they've all had their problems. Crashing, slowing down, one broke when she dropped it(I know...that's kind of unfair, but the unibody is pretty great at handling falls).

I think the key for me is I never buy current model macbooks.

I buy new/used versions of the older models once they go EOL. Price drops pretty quickly and there's no difference. Right now the only reason I didn't get a laptop this year(before the diving gear costs came up), was because I was waiting for some more time for the 2011 macbook series to get a bit older.

Example of a Macbook I'd buy.

Solid memory, decent enough HDD(I'd probably try to look for more though), and all it has is a dent.

She's not computer incompetent.

I mean don't get me wrong, she's not like an IT person or anything, but she's better than some of my friends with computers.
