WHERE IS ALL THIS GORGEOUS MUSIC IN THE CAMPAIGN?! The only ones I remember are Arrival in the last level and Requiem in the second level.
I am serious, this soundtrack is AMAZING, best one after Halo 2! Why couldn't it have been implemented in a better way? :(

Stop banning me please.

I hardly noticed music in this game but I was playing at 3am with others sleeping

It's too damn quiet. Raise the music, lower the gunfire.

Allons-y!

The soundtrack is mediocre, but I do not know where it is in the game. I think they just made it because they could, actually.

lolnope.

It was alright. It lacked a lot of iconic music. And a lot of it didn't set the mood straight for the right scenes. It was also rather quiet.

They had the music playing to quietly during gameplay, it's all there.

I noticed it a fair bit. Legacy in the middle of reclaimer (the one with the librarian) for instance.

I make a living of selling my body, and I don't mean sex.

I really liked one of the tracks from one of the Vidocs. I think it was the one that showed Chief with the pistol and the AA pack from Reach.

I was expecting more music like that throughout the campaign but I guess not.

The human mind can endure a lot, I see.

Half the time you couldn't even hear anything playing because it was so quiet. I never found it great to begin with, but it could have been put into the game a lot better.

It'd help if the music wasn't muffled during the cutscenes too.

You like it? I didn't hate it, but previous Halos did much better.

  • 12.30.2012 1:54 PM PDT

I don't listen to video game music by itself to be honest. I agree that it's nice but I wouldn't like put it on my iPhone or anything.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

I didn't like the way some of the music was handled in Halo 4. They didn't come to natural endings. They'd end abruptly, especially in cutscenes, which also needed better editing. Cutscenes specifically needed better transition editing.

Why not? Video game OSTs are easily among some of the best music out there. Halo, Mass Effect, Bioshock, Zelda, Shadow of the Colossus, Journey, Final Fantasy, Gears of War... There's so much variety in video game music, no idea why you'd overlook it.

Marley: next time try to be a little for inconspicuous.
John: What do you mean?
Marley: John, we grow lots of gear, right?
John: Yeah loads...
Marley: So try not to come back with a wasted girl and a packet of fertilizer!

My opinions on the tracks was pretty black and white, some I loved (and subsequently bought) and others I hated.

I agree with some of the guys above that said the music should've been turned up in-game. I recognised maybe a third of the music on the soundtrack whereas when I listened to halo 3 soundtrack I'd say it was more like 95%.

I hate MLP. It is cancerous and pretty stupid to see men watching a show for girls. They can deny the truth but the truth shall prevail!

117 - Last Level

I think 117 is actually the best song in Halo 4. When I listen to it, it is almost telling me a fight between Chief and the Didact, where he then staggers and falls. He then slowly gets up off the ground and rushes back at the Didact.

I also have it on my ipod, along with the Never Forget remix.
