It's not my job to disprove that your 'God' exists. It's your's to prove it does.

Probably fundamentalist atheists who's delicate, angry, little sphincters pucker up at the slightest mention of anything religious.

Nice way to try and start a religious flame war ass.

For starters, there's no such thing as a Fundamental Atheist. By the very definition of "Fundamentalist", it's impossible, so good job there.

Secondly, the reason some people, Atheists or not get offended is because we don't particularly like having things forced on us. I personally have no problem with "Merry Christmas" because I don't consider Christmas to be a religious holiday or event but to people of other faiths and/or those who consider it a religious holiday will take offense because it's rather offensive to just assume that people celebrate Christmas.

They way I handle it is that I will simply say Happy Holidays or wait for them to say what ever seasonal greeting they wish then respond in kind.

A little bit of understanding and respect will take you a long way.

Switch the words "atheist" and "religious" around, correct for grammar and you're describing yourself.

Thats cute and wrong that you're automatically assuming i'm either of these things. While my post isn't about me, I identify as nothing, so again, nice try.

And yet you so easily assume there is such thing as a "Fundamental Atheist" or that they are the reason people can be offended by the saying of "Merry Christmas."

It doesn't offend me, it just irritates me.

and why is that?
Because I don't like the whole thing, I don't participate and I don't like the religion it's now based around. The whole thing makes no sense, nobody truly values the "morals" it's supposed to represent and the whole thing just sucks unless you're in a rich circle of friends or family. It's so obnoxious and "in your face" everywhere as it is, I don't need or appreciate random people throwing it in my face too. There are so many other ways to express good will without associating with that huge crapfest.

I find it silly to say "Merry Christmas" on any day but Christmas Day.

  • 12.30.2012 3:13 PM PDT

Because SJW tumblr-blam!-s think they need to be offended for the people they think should be offeneded.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

It's not illegal for a private company or organization to endorse a religious holiday.

For the government, it is. Either they need to observe EVERY religious holiday, or none. That's how Freedom of Religion works.

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.

I'm Jewish and I have no problem with people telling me Merry Christmas. It's stupid to get offended by something like that.

  • 12.30.2012 3:21 PM PDT

If you get angry at me for saying merry Christmas ill laugh right in your face.

  • 12.30.2012 3:25 PM PDT

I've never met anyone that has said 'Merry Christmas' is offensive. I don't know why every year people are told to say happy holidays instead of 'Merry Christmas' NO ONE finds its offensive.

It is very dark, and you are likely to be eaten by a Grue.

I just say Happy Saturnalia.

I'm not really offended if xtians want to celebrate their "holiday" that was only made up in the 4th century on an arbitrary day during the already well celebrated Winter Solstice and Saturnalia. They just wanted to make it easier for Pagans and Romans to convert thereby increasing their numbers, power and strangle hold on the world.

Where q(p) is the quality of the thread as a function of p posts, (qi) is the inital quality of the first post, p is the amount of posts and r is the e-peen of the original poster.

I've actually met more people that get upset at the phrase "Happy Holidays" than "Merry Christmas".

You have a distorted view of Christmas if you think you need to be rich to enjoy it.

Was that spiel meant to make Christmas look like any less of a "holiday" ?

OT: Where I'm from, it's not really a big deal, most people know that being wished a merry Christmas is not the same as being forcibly baptised.
