Hi! How you doin'?
Sometimes, all you need are a couple giant explosions to get you through the day.

I'm not a big fan of horror games, so I probably wouldn't like it either way. However, fans of the previous two games probably won't like it for the Universal ammunition and open spaces, which both work to decrease tension in the atmosphere (which is a bad thing in a horror game, I'd assume).
The UA might not be as much of a problem, if done right.
From the interview released earlier, it didn't seem to me that they were focusing on the 'horror' aspect, instead focusing on 'epic battles'. I'm fairly certain the battles aren't supposed to feel awe-inspiring, but rather '-blam!- terrifying'.
Also, they use the pea-shooter in the demo instead of the 'bolt cutter' thing - you know, the gun that severs body parts.
I can see why fans of the series may have low expectations for it.
The fans are going to be disappointed because of universal ammunition(Ahem harcore mode) and a few spots that are going to be more wider. I am a fan but not that particular fan. Are they the same people complaining about optional co-op?
They're probably more worried about the interviewee's tone in the interview released; he didn't make it sound very appealing towards the people who enjoyed the 'horror' aspect of the games, which was probably why most of the fan base bought it.
To be honest though, I probably won't purchase it either way; the universe is interesting, but I'm not a fan of horror games, and it doesn't look like the actual combat is any fun without the whole 'dissecting enemies' mechanic.
Yes, I know that they'll probably still include it, but it probably won't work as well on regular people as it does on the zombies.
