Virtual Reality is the inevitable destination for modern Video Games, and we will see it in the next 20 years, tops.

I like how your sub box is full of science and political videos but your recommendations are full of anime girls kissing each other.

Just Zoid being Zoid ^_^

If it does happen, hopefully it'll make us feel young again

That long huh? Seems reasonable but I will be an old man by then. T.T

Idiots.

You guys don't see this already happening? Google Glass and Oculus Rift are only the beginning.

Give me VR suits which can deliver the feeling of touch in my environment someday. I don't think we'll ever be able to replicate smell though what do i know.

I hope so. What do you think of having a game like Sword art online? I know I should not use this as an example but I think being able to do things like that would be spectacular. Now lets be realistic we may not ever see anything like that in our lifetime though.

I got to use the first generation of VR many years ago. It was great in concept, but a total failure in application.

Of course I say that knowing full well that I dumped copious amounts of money into that damn machine.

What can I say.. we didn't know how bad it was at the time.

What are you talking about? Virtual boy or something that no one really knows about? I'd like to know.
Nah. Back in the 90's there was two VR systems available in some arcade rooms. One was a first person shooter, and another was a flight sim. The FPS required you to wear a large helmet, gloves, and required you to stand on a platform in the middle of a metal hoop. All the visuals were one color, and really hard to make out shapes and stuff. The flight sim was similar, but you sat in a mock cockpit.

The Internet is an empowerment tool that's agnostic; it doesn't care about race, gender, or age.

I can see this happening in 10 years.

Can you imagine games like Halo,NBA2K,Madden,Fifa where you are fully in the game controlling every single movement? Oh the possibilities...

EDIT: Oops, that wasn't what I thought it was! I was talking about a hentia. I spelled that wrong. Was it on purpose or not? I don't know.

SAO is the first thing I thought of when I saw this thread. And something like that would be awesome. Heck, even the dying IRL part would just make it more interesting.

Survival horror as a videogame genre is dead.

Let it go.
