The difference:

Intelligence is knowing how to build a nuke.

Wisdom is knowing that having a nuke is more powerful than using one.

If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

I'd be an evil genius!

It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank god that such men lived. ----------- No Bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country. (both by George S. Patton jr.)

Wisdom
Because Intelligence can be a bad thing with not enough wisdom

I know, right?
Jay acts like she's better than everyone else simply because she's a chick.
I hope she chokes to death.

Hmmm. Not sure.

Wisdom seems like the obvious choice, but very high intelligence can always be harnessed by other wise people with positive results.

But you won't have the wisdom to not make the decision to blow yourself up with your own weapon!!!
Thats why we should team up.

"Living to smile, and not to succeed; smiling to inspire happiness, not to give the illusion you are happy; creativity and music to inspire smiling, which in turn inspires happiness; being nice to be happy, not for being perceived a good person."

Intelligence.

I'm wise enough to know what the knowledge should and shouldn't be used for.

I like blowing myself up while experimenting! How would I know if my inventions worked or not without experimenting?

Is choosing one option meaning we have none of the other?

Not this.

Intelligence CAN and MAY lead to wisdom, but intelligence can also lead to foolish choices and acts, especially if the intelligence is used to deflect or ignore honest self-examination or doubts, or if it is driven by ego or hubris.

Even an average person can become wise. They do so by learning lessons and observing cause/effect and taking note of outcomes so they do not repeat their mistakes or the mistakes of others. Wisdom is the ability to understand that you don't know everything. Intelligence can mislead some people into believing that they do.

Intelligence MAY lead to wisdom, but it is not the source of it. Wisdom starts when one realizes that no matter how smart they are or are not, that they can and do have a lot to learn.

You cannot have wisdom without intelligence as intelligence is the basis of wisdom. You can however have knowledge without wisdom. It's how you use the knowledge that counts. I think I'll go with intelligence, I can develop wisdom over time.

With intelligence you have the knowledge that wisdom is an important tool, so you learn to be wise.

With wisdom you can say intelligence isn't everything, but you lack the intelligence to produce.

Agreed, I JUST got back from a four day federal training camp with the Border Patrol Explorers, and if I learned ONE thing about the work force, it is that you need to make decisions, no two scenarios are the same. No matter how much you were taught, something will be out of the ordinary and you will need to make the right decision to make sure you and your team finish the job safely.

So from my observations, intelligence comes from experience and your wise choices and how you can apply those in the future.

To attain wisdom, one must be revealed to time. Wisdom can almost be described as wine. With maturity, comes quality. A person who gains wisdom over a short period of time won't be as wise as the person who has attained wisdom over a long period of time. For the second person has learned and faced life's greatest challenges and lessons. The second will also have a combination of intelligence and wisdom.
