NON FACET NOBIS CALCITRARE VESTRUM PERNĒ¢UM

That's just not right, be the same if they went after an egg donor for an infertile couple, it crosses some line in my opinion.

Just remember that no matter how terrible you feel, or how much you want to let go, there are people who care about you and love you.

This is by no means the worst I've heard.

When Mrs Charlie was in law school, I often helped her study while she outlined fact patterns of cases. One of them was:

A man had a one night stand with a woman. He used a condom, and it did not break. After he went to sleep, she got a turkey baster, removed his semen from the used condom and impregnated herself with it.

Fast forward a couple of years, she applied for state aid, and had to list the father of her child. Being not bright, she put his name down. The state sued him for back child support due.

The state won.

How is that even possible? surely there must be someone in the state who has a speck of common sense and moral decency.
the kid needs to be cared for and the citizens of the state voted the law in. What was the judge supposed to do?

The kid is already born. He needs to be cared for. The state has limited funds. It really sucks to be the guy, but the kid will get care.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

IMO, when filling out the birth certificate, the mother should have put "unknown" and all of this would have been avoided.

that's what I was thinking. That's a real boneheaded thing to do on her part.

Especially since before the child was even conceived, it was clear that the couple did not want any association or connection to the donor.

It would have been far simpler if she had said "one night stand, mistake, never knew his name, good luck finding him".

No need to shout. She isn't "after his money". She's applied the child for medicaid, and the state then automatically says "well, mom can't afford it, but maybe dad can" looked at the birth certificate, saw his name and is now telling him that he needs to pay up for "his kid".

Which in a "textbook" binary world where babies only happen when a mommy and a daddy love each other very much... well, that might work all of the time. But in this case, the state's automatic reaction is somewhat... flawed.

Now try how and why."

I wonder how many people actually clicked on the link.

Or do something other than click on the last page and quote the first reply that they can respond to.

Charge the mother i guess, she impregnated herself against the father's will, surely there has to be some law that deals with that kind of thing.

And if there isn't, well tough, the mother's going to have just take responsibility then.

I enjoy halo for it's story and when I am in the mood, its gameplay. Reach was significantly worse then I expected but was still a great game (minus the european hitscan fiasco). I am sitting on a two mile wide fence on the subject of halo 4. Most of the things I like a technical aspects though and not story or game play. Plus I am slightly mad they took my elites from MP.

At least the ad was never aired on ebay because I wouldn't have been able to take this seriously.

Damn, poor kid.

If the mother could afford it then she wouldn't be applying for it, genius.

In a normal situation, the state's response is good. Mom doesn't have the money, go after dad. In both my and Recon's examples, the execution of the policy is flawed. One size does not fit all.

There is just something magical about leaning your head back, letting your eyes roll into the back of your head, and taking a piss while floating in the swimming pool.

Truly our legal system is -blam!- up. If you are going to allow -blam!- marriage, you better BETTER protect people that are willing to help -blam!- couples have kids.

He doesn't have to though... does he?

Because I know our society has gotten to the ridiculous point where the smallest bit of DNA in the smallest things means you are somehow liable for such thing and everything associated with such thing, but really, it's still stupid.

Wait, one of those articles said that the -blam!- couple is actually helping the donor fight against the court's decision? Hmm, that gives me hope for humanity.

Also it's quite odd that the word for a female homo-blam!- couple is censored here...
