Alcohol should NEVER be illegal. If we don't let people die in drunk driving accidents and poisonings to alcohol, then we aren't American!
I know you're being silly, but in a way - you're right.

America is about freedom. If we don't let people do what they want with their bodies [including, but not limited to, drinking alcohol] then are we really free?

Let the problem weed out the stupid people.

*And the innocent people ran over by drunk, stupid people.
Yep. Sucks but the few bad apples shouldn't ruin everything for the majority of responsible people now should it.

Yes they should.

I think they should as well.

Population isn't a problem in the US. India, maybe.

You say a lot of crazy things, so I wouldn't be surprised.

Install breathalyzers in every vehicle, and if the amount of alcohol it measures is above the limit, the car doesn't start. Problem solved.

Alcohol is legal so you can not win. Alcohol.

>Implying people wouldn't get friends/family/bystanders to blow on it in order to start the car
>Implying people wouldn't bypass the system by reflashing the ECU or changing wiring
>Implying people would want to pay more money for every new car with it installed
>Implying people would have them installed on the millions of used cars in the world

I had a very similar thing, only I threw a 14 story building out of a pool and hit a kid on a paper aeroplane.

Killing someone isn't legal, so does that mean we're not free? Some things have to be prevented so it can save others.

Agreed. All the changes are good and add variety. Do we really want another Halo 3? Just running around with one gun and no armor abilities? It's good that 343 wants to try something new. Do we really want the same thing for three more games?

Posted by: Mastergee
Well I don't think it should be banned. But I don't understand why that is legal when -blam!- isn't.
That's the logic someone would expect from a kindergartner.

-I was here

1) in regulated doses, it can have health benefits.
2) drinking helps some remove social barriers
3) they tried making it illegal before... it didn't work.

People tried to make it illegal once. It didn't go over so well.

The whole damn city was filled with angry alcoholics.

I wish.

By making alcohol and other drugs illegal, we're not free to put whatever we want in our body. Thus, not free.

I don't agree one bit. Frankly I'm sick and tired of having my rights taken away due to others incompetence. I miss living in a free country.

Don't worry, you're still your mom's favorite Bnet member.

It got to be popular before we understood science and therefore couldn't realize it was bad. Now it's too late for society to give it up.

But in moderation, it isn't bad.

Are there benefits?

Wine has been shown to reduce risk of cardiovascular disease and beer has been shown to have anti-viral properties.

Yes, actually
Moderate alcohol consumption may provide some health benefits. It may:

Reduce your risk of developing heart disease
Reduce your risk of dying of a heart attack
Possibly reduce your risk of strokes, particularly ischemic strokes
Lower your risk of gallstones
Possibly reduce your risk of diabetes
