the video doesn't show up on the folder whenever i tried to import it.

My first guess is that Movie Maker won't use that file type?

Conversion software. Try changing the file extension to something compatible. Probably won't work though. I don't use Windows so I can't recommend any freeware to convert. You may be able to convert it using iTunes. I've done it with MP3s.

When you say 'downloaded from the ipod' are you talking about videos you downloaded from iTunes, or ones that you shot yourself? The former won't be compatible with WMM because of copyright protection.

MP4 is one of the compatible containers.
