Subject: The Xbox 360 is leading the fall of the gaming industry

With nearly all of the games this year being a massive disappointment I believe in the next year or so the gaming industry will crash.

Just look at the Xbox 360. It's becoming a media player riddled with nothing but ads. Also, let's not forget about their fantastic "sales". AN ENTIRE 10% OFF A GAME?! WOW THANKS M$! Can't they take a hint and be more like steam?

Another example is the Wii -blam!- U. Hey, let's take our innovative Wii and slap a screen on the -blam!- controller. What a great idea! The Wii U is almost as big a failure as the Virtual Boy. Sales are pathetic and launch games are a -blam!- joke. Let's not even talk about the DS and its retarded XL -blam!-.

PS3, however, continues to be the stale slice of bread left in the fridge that no one wants to eat. It is only the really hungry who can't find anything else that will try it.

PC gaming you win. I fully convert.

If you assign every letter of the alphabet a number, a is 1, b is 2, etc., and you take all of the values of the word "MATH", and add them, you get 42. So math is the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

I would beg to differ, actually.

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.

I can't take an opinion seriously when it bashes on company about hurting the industry and then plugs steam sales as one of his points.

^ Because Microsoft games is massively huge, along with Sony and Nintendo, and with the fact that the GAME INDUSTRY also includes PC, you are far, far, far away from the truth, op.

I don't need you to take anything seriously because you're only here to bash one point that I made with nothing to back you up.

Games seriously need to ditch kinect almost entirely. It just doesn't work for "Actual" games, for lack of a better word. It's only use is for party games like dance central, and the occasional gimmick like voice commands in Mass Effect 3. Most kinect exclusive titles feel more like a tech demo than a game, and a bad one at that.

do you like muffins?

ok... maybe if you werent such an anti-fun piece of -blam!- who expects game developers to cater to your needs and wants, the consoles wouldnt suck as much. While I do agree with pc gaming as the better option please quit your -blam!-ing.

No, I read that and stopped reading. Steam sales help the consumer not the industry, thus plugging steam as an example for MS to stop hurting the industry is not only misinformed, it prevents me from wanting to see what else you have to say.

Every post whining about the weekly update delays it by 5 minutes.

all closed platforms and exclusivity kills any kind of market.....

an open market harbors innovation and competition. This is why the pc has given rise to indies and smaller dev houses like minecraft selling millions.

even steam could potentially cause some of these problems if it gets even bigger than it is now.

That game is utter poo. I wouldn't get it for free.

Take a hint from steam...where you don't actually own your games? Like that? As cheap as the games are, and if you have no self control, you'll eventually find yourself with a pile of games that you'll never play.

valve does not set the sales, the publisher sets the sale price and can choose whether or not to sell it at a discount or not....

I disagree that the gaming industry is falling. Sales numbers in nearly every category are up YoY.
