My signature is rather loopy and elegant... I don't see a way to replicate this in text form. Do italics work? Yes, they do

Anyone else get this feeling?

Yep

That's fine. I wouldn't be very interactive with all those snotty kids either.

Most of what I say is sarcasm, the rest is of the highest intellect.

They have the auto-ban ready for when the utter blasphemy of criticism veers thier way.

Ridiculous

I like to play Reach for fun. I hate MLG, campers, armor lock, and team killers because they ruin that fun. Deal with it.

Nope. They're trying to please their fans, but it's impossible to please everyone. Unfortunately, the complainers always end up being the louder portion of the population; so the video game developers try to please them and in the process, the others that were happy before aren't now.

  • 12.31.2012 1:15 PM PDT

Please stop complaining about the 'death of a loved one' it's my job. They probably deserved it anyways. Here's a warning, if you keep making pentagrams out of the neighbors livestock I will personally come to your house and kill everyone you love. Now leave me alone, I got to get back to work.

It's their choice. I guess they don't have reason enough to be.

Please.

It's up to the developer to sort through the criticism and make the changes that make the most sense with the limited resources they have. The act of the criticism can't possibly screw up a game so long as the developer uses that criticism wisely.

They listen, they fix. They can't be fixing things at everyone's beck and call. Just because a few people said something is broken doesn't make it so. There IS such a very bad thing as listening to your community too much. A good developer knows when to put their foot down.

  • 12.31.2012 1:23 PM PDT

Without a sign, his sword the brave man draws, and asks no omen but his country's cause

At the end of the day they're not using my money to make their game so they don't have to listen. Just like I don't have to buy it.

Like the way they put their foot down with their retardedly pathetic Ordnance Drop system that promotes randomness and gives the upper hand to the lucky players?

343 is the cancer that is killing Halo.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

Perhaps it's because they designed an entire game type around the ordinance system and would like the community to try it out? I mean damn, we're barely entering the second month of Halo 4's life cycle and already people can't stomach anything.

If anything, the halo community as a whole are just terrible. They can't express anything without throwing a fit, calling foul on everything, crying, or being dramatic by saying they're going to quit/put their copy up on eBay/sold their game already. Things take time. If everyone's beloved Halo 2 had the same jaded community as it is today (because even back then we had a good amount), it would have been dead out of the water. That first TU took 5 months!

No it wasn't. Reach was not the cancer. It was still replayable and different from majority of mainstream gaming.

Marley: next time try to be a little for inconspicuous.
John: What do you mean?
Marley: John, we grow lots of gear, right?
John: Yeah loads...
Marley: So try not to come back with a wasted girl and a packet of fertilizer!

I feel like there should be some context or factual information in that post.

Is this just a hunch you have or what? I don't...

OT: I'm actually inclined to agree with you on this occasion based on both my impression of h4 and the amount of effort that was put into it as well as how the waypoint forums are managed.

What Halo 4 is now is based off of what Reach was. 343 isn't the only one at fault here.

What's the problem with it?

As far as I've experienced it's not random, like everything in Halo there's a pattern to it. It just makes weapon spawns more dynamic and helps you know if an unused power weapon is near you.

For the personal Ordnance Drops, they reward you for doing something. Whether it was: assisting a teammate, driving the warthog, or just plain killing people. It doesn't matter, you get rewarded for doing good things, what's wrong with that?

No. Otherwise we would have Flood infection and Pelican piloting. Haters never shut up so it always seems everyone wants to opposite of what they want.

Signatures are for losers! Oh wait, now I'm loser! Well, both the cake and this signature is a lie!

Well, Bungie seems to be one of those very rare AAA studios who actually do interact a lot with their fans so I wouldn't be amazed in that aspect.

No? You might as well say Reach was based off of Halo 3 while your at it. It is obvious the two games are different. Might as well say Halo 3 is cancer while you are at it.

Well, Bungie seems to be one of those very rare AAA studios who actually do interact a lot with their fans so I wouldn't be amazed in that aspect.

One thing that I'm noticing in regards to AAA studios that are owned by big publishers is that they have very, very little contact with their fans. The reason why is because the publisher restricts them from doing so and controls every move they make - just for the money. Lionhead Studios is crumbling because of this. They're putting less quality into their games just so their publisher can make a lot more money. Look what happened to their fans. They all left, and even their founder left to form his own company (you guessed it - not governed by a publisher; and look, this company COMPLETELY listens to their fans).

Tl;dr: It's all the publisher's fault. Bungie is smart enough not to completely submit to one given publisher, because they know that once they do, it's over. That's why they have such great quality games; because they listen to their community. 343i tries to do this, but Microsoft is holding them back.
